According to Neowin , Qualcomm wants to help game developers maximize the resolution and frame rate of Android games, while also increasing the battery life of the phone. Accordingly, the company has officially announced Snapdragon Game Super Resolution (GSR) technology, which will be a big step forward in the graphics of high-end Android games.
Qualcomm launches Snapdragon Game Super Resolution technology to make Android games more powerful
Qualcomm says Snapdragon GSR is a one-time spatial upscaling technique optimized for Snapdragon Adreno GPUs, delivering superior graphics quality and power efficiency. Overall, Snapdragon GSR will deliver up to two times better performance than other mobile upscaling solutions.
Since the technology only uses one upscaling method at a time, Snapdragon GSR will also significantly improve the battery life of devices. Qualcomm says that games using this method on Snapdragon chips will see 1080p games upscaled to 4K, while also increasing the frame rate from 30FPS to a peak of 60FPS.
Qualcomm says a number of games are in development that will support Snapdragon GSR technology. These include Activision’s popular Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile , along with Jade Dynasty: New Fantasy, Return to Empire, Justice Mobile, Naraka Mobile, and Farming Simulator 23 Mobile .
