British Virgin Islands leads in FDI investment in Lam Dong

According to the Provincial People's Committee, in 2023, Lam Dong will have 2 more foreign direct investment (FDI) projects granted investment registration certificates in the province, with a total investment capital of 34 billion VND, equivalent to 1.5 million USD.

Up to now, Lam Dong has 99 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in operation, with a total registered investment capital of VND 13,091 billion, equivalent to USD 569.1 million; the land area used is about 2,248 hectares.

To date, 89 projects have been fully completed and put into operation, accounting for about 89.9% of the total number of registered projects, with a capital of about VND 7,928 billion. Of the remaining projects, 8 projects have been partially completed and are under construction, accounting for 8.1% of the total number of registered projects, with a capital of about VND 4,014 billion; 2 projects are carrying out investment procedures, accounting for 2% of the total number of registered projects.

Foreign direct investment projects in Lam Dong are invested by foreign organizations and individuals from 20 countries and territories, mainly in the fields of agricultural production combined with primary processing, processing industry and supporting industry.

If we consider the continent, the projects invested by investors from the Asian region in Lam Dong are the most with 71 projects, the total registered investment capital is 5,325 billion VND (equivalent to 231.52 million USD). The projects invested by investors from the European region in Lam Dong have 18 projects with the total registered investment capital of 6,498 billion VND (equivalent to 282.52 million USD); the projects invested by investors from the Americas region include 7 projects with the total registered investment capital of 1,186 billion VND (equivalent to 51.57 million USD) and the projects invested by investors from other regions include 3 projects with the total registered investment capital of 82.94 billion VND (equivalent to 3.6 million USD).

So far, the country with the largest FDI capital in Lam Dong province is the British Virgin Islands with a total registered investment capital of VND4,138.92 billion (equivalent to USD179.9 million). In which, Dalat Hasfarm Company Limited has many large projects such as the project "Growing flowers, producing flower varieties and growing vegetables using high technology" in Da Lat city (investment capital of USD15 million); "Livestock and crop farming project" (investment capital of USD70 million), the project "Investing in production and trading agricultural products in Lam Dong" (investment capital of USD760 thousand) in Don Duong and in Lam Ha, this company has the project "Growing flowers, producing flower varieties and growing vegetables using high technology" (investment capital of USD35 million).
