The meeting was chaired by Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Military Region 7. Also attending the meeting were Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Commander of Military Region 7; Mr. Vu Hoai Bac, Head of the Government's Committee for Religious Affairs; representatives of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization, the Committees for Mass Mobilization of Provincial and Municipal Party Committees and more than 100 religious dignitaries from 9 provinces and cities of Military Region 7.
At the meeting, Head Monk Thuong Tam Thanh, Head of the Cao Dai Holy See - Tay Ninh Holy See, said that the Cao Dai Holy See has now developed in 29 representative boards of the Holy See in provinces and cities in the country and overseas, more than 400 parish management boards and 20 grassroots ritual boards.
Over the years, the Cao Dai Church has always guided the entire religion to practice purely, strictly comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies, the Law on Beliefs and Religions and Decree No. 162 of the Government. The motto of the Church is "Good life, beautiful religion, prosperous country, bright religion".
According to Head Monk Thuong Tam Thanh, the Cao Dai Holy See has actively implemented the Campaign Letter of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front calling on religious organizations to join with departments, socio -political organizations and armed forces in mass mobilization work.
In particular, dignitaries, officials and followers practicing their religion from the Tay Ninh Holy See to the grassroots all attended training courses on national defense, security and national protection organized by Military Region 7, the Provincial Military Command and Military Commands at all levels.
At the meeting, Father Tran Quang Vinh, Parish Priest of Tac Roi Parish - Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese, spoke, saying that currently, Ho Chi Minh City Catholic community consists of 231 parishes, with 722,098 parishioners, 965 priests, 156 religious orders and 203 religious congregations (not including Cu Chi Deanery of Phu Cuong Diocese).
Regarding the activities of parishes, religious orders, and Catholic organizations, in recent times, they have carried out social, charitable, and humanitarian activities well. These include organizing activities to visit and give gifts to the disadvantaged, the elderly, the disabled, and the poor in remote areas, etc.
According to Father Tran Quang Vinh, through a survey, the rate of soldiers with religious backgrounds enlisting in the armed forces of Military Region 7 annually reaches about 14%. Military Region 7 has regularly paid attention to and directed all levels and commanders of agencies and units to grasp the thoughts, feelings, and aspirations of soldiers with religious backgrounds.
Thanks to that, timely propaganda, education, encouragement, creating excitement, trust in the State's guidelines, policies, and guidelines; Having correct awareness of responsibilities and duties, strictly following military discipline, good solidarity,... After completing military service, soldiers with religion return to their localities and register for military reserve according to regulations.
At the meeting, the dignitaries and religious representatives also spoke and shared about many active activities to propagate and mobilize followers to properly implement the Party and State's guidelines, policies and laws, and local regulations. At the same time, they actively participated in building the great national unity bloc, solidarity between Catholics and Catholics, and solidarity between the army and the people; actively worked in production, developed the economy, protected the environment, and improved people's lives.
Acknowledging and appreciating the opinions of the delegates, Lieutenant General Tran Hoai Trung, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Military Region 7, affirmed the role and great contributions of religious dignitaries and officials. Especially, the role in contributing to making the people and religious followers trust and agree with the government, comply with the constitution and laws, actively fulfill the duty of building and defending the Fatherland, and building a prosperous and happy life.
On this occasion, the leaders of Military Region 7 also expressed their sincere thanks for the guidance, direction and support of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, the General Department of Politics, the Department of Mass Mobilization, local Party committees, authorities, the Committee for Mass Mobilization, and the Committee for Religious Affairs with the Military Region 7 in carrying out religious work in the area in the past time.
