Pay attention to environmental sanitation work in the city

DTO - Party committees and organizations at all levels have led the concretization of Action Program No. 15 dated March 29, 2021 of the Standing Committee of the Hong Ngu City Party Committee on strengthening leadership over environmental sanitation work in the city for the period 2021 - 2025 (abbreviated as Action Program No. 15) in line with the actual conditions of the locality. Thereby, creating many positive changes, especially the increasingly green - clean - beautiful environmental landscape.

The Standing Committee of the Hong Ngu City Party Committee leads and directs the City People's Committee to regularly direct specialized sectors to coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) and socio -political organizations of the city and local authorities to carry out environmental protection work. Organize activities to maintain environmental sanitation associated with implementing civilized urban lifestyles and building advanced new rural areas to create awareness of environmental protection among cadres, civil servants, public employees, union members, association members and people in the city.

In particular, the Standing Committee of the Hong Ngu City Party Committee led and directed the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and members of the Front, departments, and branches of Hong Ngu City to step up coordination with communes and wards to propagate and mobilize people to participate in regular environmental sanitation activities and environmental protection models launched by sectors and socio-political organizations such as: "Great Solidarity Day for the Community" of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hong Ngu City, "Exchanging plastic waste for gifts" of the Hong Ngu City Women's Union, "Green tree nursery" of the Hong Ngu City Youth Union... attracting a large number of union members, members, and people to participate in response.

The People's Committee of Hong Ngu City is interested in consolidating, perfecting and improving the capacity of specialized agencies related to the environmental field; rotating and fully arranging civil servants to carry out environmental protection work from the city to the communes and wards. At the same time, deploying and investing in urban infrastructure projects in a synchronous and modern direction, creating favorable conditions, improving quality and ensuring environmental sanitation and urban landscape. Specifically: completing the project to renovate, upgrade and expand the treatment and improvement of the environment of the Hong Ngu City domestic waste dump, the centralized wastewater treatment project of Hong Ngu City market, urban embellishment and environmental improvement of the Muong Nha May residential area... contributing to environmental protection in the border city.

According to the Standing Committee of the Hong Ngu City Party Committee, Party committees and organizations at all levels in the area have focused on leading and directing the implementation of Action Program No. 15, bringing about many practical results. In general, the use of clean water; collection and treatment of waste in urban and rural areas have all met the targets set out in the plan. However, the rate of green trees covering the entire urban area has not been achieved because Hong Ngu City is investing in building infrastructure for many concentrated residential areas; when the construction is completed, trees will be planted in flower gardens and sidewalks. In addition, the city has planned green land along the Hong Ngu - Vinh Hung canal, An Binh A ward and An Binh B ward, So Ha - Cai Co river, Binh Thanh commune and Tan Hoi commune... It is expected that by the end of 2025, Hong Ngu City will achieve the green tree target.

In the coming time, the Party committees, Party organizations, authorities, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of Hong Ngu City will continue to implement the goals and targets of Action Program No. 15 set out in conjunction with the political tasks of agencies, units and localities, especially the work of maintaining environmental sanitation. The People's Committee of Hong Ngu City directs specialized agencies to supervise and urge the construction of the Gia Binh Hong Ngu Waste Treatment Plant and Organic Fertilizer Production Project to ensure the progress as allowed by the Provincial People's Committee to extend the investment progress. The functional branches of Hong Ngu City will strengthen the inspection of compliance with the provisions of the law on environmental protection in the collection and transportation of domestic solid waste; handle violations of the law on domestic solid waste management according to their authority.

Socialization of waste collection and environmental sanitation activities in Hong Ngu City has been maintained since 2014. Currently, it is carried out by Dong Thap Urban Water Supply and Environment Joint Stock Company under the supervision of the People's Committees of hamlets, villages and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of communes and wards. The waste collection rate for urban areas is 100%, and for rural areas it is over 96%. The collected waste is transported to landfills at Binh Thanh landfill for treatment according to regulations. Communes and wards have established self-management groups for environmental sanitation in all hamlets and villages. The self-management groups have played a pioneering role in mobilizing people to carry out environmental sanitation on holidays and environmental anniversaries.
