Speaking at the conference, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of An Giang Province, Tran Thi Thanh Huong, emphasized that in recent times, the Party, the State and the province have issued many important documents, demonstrating consistent guidelines and deep concern for ethnic and religious affairs. Resolutions and directives of the Central Committee to plans and decisions of the province all aim to enhance understanding and mutual respect among ethnic groups and religions; ensure freedom of belief and religion of all people according to the provisions of law; promote the positive role of religious organizations and ethnic people in the cause of socio -economic development, maintaining national defense and security.

Comrade Tran Thi Thanh Huong suggested that, after the conference, Party committees, localities and units implement documents in a synchronous, drastic and creative manner, in accordance with the practical conditions of each locality and unit. Focus on caring for and improving the material and spiritual life of ethnic minorities and religious people, especially in remote, border and particularly difficult areas. Continue to guide and create favorable conditions for recognized religious organizations to operate in accordance with the law, charter and regulations; proactively prevent and resolutely combat activities that take advantage of ethnicity, beliefs and religions to cause insecurity and disorder, division and sabotage of the great national unity and religious unity.
