Quang Nam to implement food safety post-inspection in 2025

The plan aims to improve management efficiency, ensure food safety for people, contribute to socio -economic development; strengthen responsibility for food safety management from the province to the grassroots level, promptly detect, prevent and handle violations.

In addition, it helps assess the legal compliance of food production, trading, import and advertising establishments; control food groups such as health protection foods, meat, seafood, vegetables, alcohol, soft drinks and food additives.

Quang Nam will also focus on disseminating the law and publicizing violations in the media.

Subjects of inspection include food safety management agencies at all levels; food production, trading, import, advertising establishments, catering services, collective kitchens, street food; food products, additives, packaging materials.

The inspection content focuses on the responsibility of food safety management of agencies at all levels; conditions for ensuring food safety, product declaration, labeling, advertising, traceability; food quality, control of raw materials, additives, and banned chemicals.

Quang Nam plans to organize 3 inter-sectoral inspections during Lunar New Year, Food Safety Action Month, and Mid-Autumn Festival. In addition to regular inspections, there will be surprise inspections, sample testing, and strict handling of violations.

The plan requires close coordination between agencies to avoid overlap. Funding is guaranteed by the state budget and other legal sources.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Health to preside over and coordinate with departments, branches and localities to implement the plan and periodically report results to the Provincial People's Committee for monitoring and direction.
