Mr. Nguyen Tuong Duy, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dong Son commune, along with the working group of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control, conducted an urgent on-site inspection in Cu Lao hamlet, Chau Me village.
Recognizing the complex nature of the flooding situation, the Party Secretary and the delegation traveled directly by boat through areas with rising water levels to accurately assess the extent of the damage and implement local response measures.

Due to the low-lying terrain and lack of drainage, many areas are deeply flooded, making travel and the purchase of essential goods extremely difficult for the residents.

To provide timely assistance, the People's Committee of Dong Son commune has initially organized the provision of clean water to 132 affected households, with each household receiving a 20-liter water filter to meet their daily needs.
The head of the commune's police force was injured while helping residents evacuate.
On the morning of October 29th, in Son Tay commune ( Quang Ngai province ), several landslides occurred due to prolonged heavy rain, especially in the Uy Mang stream area (Dak Tren village), where rising water caused landslides on both banks, sweeping away people's property.
While directing the evacuation of residents and the movement of property to safety, Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Quang Tien, Chief of Police of Son Tay Commune, was unfortunately impaled by a tree branch through his right foot.

Despite being seriously injured, Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Quang Tien still managed to suppress his pain and directed the commune police force to complete the evacuation of residents to a safe area before providing first aid and treatment.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Quang Tien, although he is currently injured and has difficulty moving around, he is still trying to direct the commune police force to coordinate with local authorities to go to areas at high risk of landslides and flash floods to encourage and help people evacuate to safe places.
On October 29th, the Dong Tra Bong Commune Police mobilized 100% of its officers and soldiers to coordinate with the militia, youth union, and other commune departments to urgently assist households in Binh Trung and Phu An villages in relocating their property and livestock to safe places due to local flooding.
