Quang Ngai proposes nearly 1,300 billion VND in support to overcome natural disasters

The recent floods caused severe damage to infrastructure in Quang Ngai . The locality sent a dispatch to the Central Government requesting support of nearly 1,300 billion VND to overcome the situation.


On December 12, the Office of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province said that the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province sent a document to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Planning and Investment, proposing to consider and submit to the Government to support the province with 1,280 billion VND to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and landslides.

Landslides on the Ve River have cracked and eroded the roadbed of Provincial Road 624B.

Of which, 370 billion VND will be supported to repair and upgrade 22 severely degraded reservoirs; 600 billion VND to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, riverbank and coastal landslides; and 310 billion VND to build resettlement areas at risk of landslides in mountainous areas.

It is known that in Quang Ngai province, there are 22 degraded and damaged reservoirs and 160 landslide risk points, of which 67 are at high risk of landslides and flash floods when there is prolonged heavy rain in mountainous districts that need to be handled and remedied soon.

Previously, the flood from November 22 to 25 caused a lot of damage to houses, infrastructure, traffic, embankments, dams, and canals. Many traffic works were seriously damaged, such as Provincial Road 624B, Provincial Road 628, and many district and commune roads...
