Previously, during the process of renovating the landscape of the Thanh Nien Xung Phong cave, from October 1 to October 15, at the location of the old cave entrance that collapsed, the Martyr Remains Collection Team 589 under the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command searched for and collected many martyrs' remains and some relics.

In response to the wishes of the martyrs’ families, the People’s Committee of Quang Tri province directed relevant agencies and units to conduct DNA testing to identify the martyrs. So far, 8 DNA results have matched samples of martyrs’ relatives in localities such as Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh (formerly Nam Dinh).
Also according to the wishes of the martyrs' families, the martyrs' remains and relics were buried in a common grave built at the entrance to the cave. 8 Youth volunteers to commemorate and pay tribute to heroic martyrs and educate about revolutionary traditions.

The eulogy of the representative of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province stated that more than half a century has passed since the fierce days of the war, at the cave 8 Thanh nien xung phong Road 20 Quyet thang, a part of the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail, many outstanding sons have fallen. You, the young volunteers, have fought bravely and steadfastly held your ground on the front line.
On November 14, 1972, in the midst of a fierce rain of bombs, those twenty-year-old soldiers heroically sacrificed their lives to keep the traffic flow open to support the South.
The eulogy reads: “That deep, narrow cave has become a witness to immortality, where youth turns into fire, illuminating the entire length of history. The sacrifice of you, brothers and sisters, is a heroic and tragic song, the pinnacle of courage, the most sacred proof of the truth: “Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom.”
In the sacred moment, the leaders of Quang Tri province, delegates and relatives of the martyrs offered flowers and incense, visited the heroic martyrs and organized the burial of the martyrs' remains in the common grave at the 8 Thanh nien xung phong cave, 20 Quyet thang road.
