Mr. Phan Hong Tri’s family (Thach Khe village, Que My commune) is one of the poor households with particularly difficult circumstances in the locality. He and his wife do not have stable jobs, have an unstable income, and have to raise three school-age children.

For many years, the whole family had to live in a makeshift, seriously degraded house. In early 2025, Mr. Tri's family received 60 million VND from Agribank, Que Son branch, and an additional 50 million VND from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district. From this source of funding, he built a spacious, solid level 4 house including 1 living room, 2 bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom.

Mr. Tri shared: “The house is the dream of my wife and I. We are grateful to the government and sponsors for their help. I will try to work hard and educate my children properly so as not to let everyone down.”

The work of supporting poor households to improve their housing in Que Son has also received active support from mass organizations. From 2024 to present, Que Son District Youth Union has built 13 new charity houses and repaired 5 houses for poor households with a total cost of nearly 1 billion VND. Of which, the district level directly supported the construction of 8 houses, the rest were mobilized and implemented by grassroots youth unions.

Along with that, the District Women's Union also promoted the "Warm House of Love" program. In 2024, the union mobilized more than 340 million VND to build 4 houses for poor female members, each house was supported with at least 60 million VND and dozens of working days.

The work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses has been identified by the People's Committee of Que Son district as one of the key targets in implementing the Resolution of the District Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term. Every year, the district aims to eliminate 40 to 50 temporary houses for poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances. As of early 2025, the entire district has supported the elimination of more than 270 temporary houses.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy - Vice Chairman of Que Son District People's Committee said that to effectively implement this goal, the district proactively integrates programs and projects such as the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction, new rural construction, support for people with meritorious services, housing support for poor households...

The district also focuses on calling for the cooperation of businesses, Que Son Association in Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City, Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank, charitable organizations and local people.

“Diversifying resources and combining synchronous solutions have created a clear change in the work of eliminating temporary housing in Que Son, helping people have a place to settle down and contribute to promoting local socio -economic development,” said Ms. Thuy.
