Representatives of functional agencies worked with Ms. Pham Thi Anh on the afternoon of May 6.

Ms. Pham Thi Anh, born in 1984, residing in Lac Nhieu hamlet, Boc Nhieu commune, is the owner of the Facebook account Pham Thi Anh. In a post on the Page of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Electronic Information Portal on May 1 ("Thai Nguyen is one of the first 3 localities to complete the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses"), Ms. Anh commented: "Many families are still very poor, have no houses to live in and are still waiting for support. Yet Thai Nguyen newspaper has completed it. What has it accomplished?".

A few days later, Ms. Anh removed this comment, but the content of the comment had a negative impact on public opinion about the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Thai Nguyen province.

After verification, the authorities invited Ms. Pham Thi Anh to the Le Dai Hanh Ward Police Station for questioning. There, Ms. Anh said that she did not fully understand the criteria for support in removing temporary and dilapidated houses and the regulations on the use of social networks, leading to the above false comments. She realized that her actions were in violation, apologized to the authorities and pledged not to repeat the offense.

The authorities have drawn up a record of the incident and requested Ms. Pham Thi Anh to strictly comply with regulations on the use of social networks; at the same time, complete the dossier for handling according to the provisions of law.

In recent days, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has discovered a number of social media accounts commenting, posting and sharing negative, false and fabricated information. The Department has issued a document requesting the People's Committees of districts and cities to proactively review information; promptly verify and handle violations of information on the internet according to regulations.
