Attending the launching ceremony were comrades: Lam Van Phong, Deputy Head of the Department of Culture - Society (Provincial People's Council); Lam Huu Phuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Nguyen Thi Cam Huong, Deputy Secretary of Tra Vinh Provincial Youth Union and representatives of a number of agencies and units.
The specialized reading room on seas and oceans currently has about 500 paper books and a digital document collection of 46 books specializing in seas and oceans, and Vietnam's seas and islands, helping readers to visit and find books to read.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Lam Huu Phuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: launching a specialized reading room about the sea and ocean is a practical activity to effectively implement communication work about the sea and ocean in the province in accordance with the viewpoints and objectives of Decision No. 729/QD-TTg, dated June 16, 2022 of the Prime Minister approving the Sea and Ocean Communication Program to 2030 and Plan No. 92/KH-UBND, dated December 26, 2022 of the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province on implementing Decision No. 729 in the province.

In addition, promote and raise public awareness of the cause of protecting the sea and islands of the Fatherland and developing the sustainable marine economy . Promote the position, role and importance of the sea and ocean in socio-economic development and national protection to everyone, especially the young generation.
