Launching of "Vietnam Studies Center" in Japan

Recently, the Vietnam-Japan Economic Cooperation Promotion Association in Osaka, Japan, coordinated with the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka to organize the launching ceremony of the "Vietnam Studies Center".

This is a facility for coordinating research and in-depth training on Vietnam, providing multi-dimensional data and knowledge about Vietnam, while contributing to promoting understanding and good cooperative relations between Japan and Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Consul General in Osaka - Mr. Ngo Trinh Ha highly appreciated the establishment of the Vietnam Studies Center which will open a new stage in the development orientation of the Association in the context of the Japan - Vietnam relationship developing very well and there is an increasing need for understanding and cooperation between the two sides in many fields from politics - economics, culture - society to tourism - sports...

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese - Mr. Nguyen Manh Dong congratulated the Vietnam - Japan Economic Cooperation Promotion Association, although still very "young" and newly established on August 15, but has quickly caught up, made efforts to organize connection activities, and coordinated the construction of the first Vietnam Studies Center in Japan.

The preservation of Vietnamese culture and language is not only spiritually meaningful but also plays an important role in the development and integration of the Vietnamese community in Kansai, serving as a cultural bridge between Vietnam and Japan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hopes that the Vietnamese community in the Kansai region will effectively promote the model of the Vietnamese Studies Center so that overseas Vietnamese in other areas can learn, absorb and replicate it, according to Mr. Nguyen Manh Dong.

On behalf of the staff and teachers of the Vietnam Studies Center, Ms. Le Thuong, Principal of the Bamboo Vietnamese Language School, affirmed that the establishment of the center will be a source of academic knowledge, a foundation for creating and developing knowledge about Vietnam in various fields such as: economics, society, politics, history and culture.

"This will be a place to cultivate quality data and knowledge about Vietnam, serving Japanese government and private agencies, to promote Japan-Vietnam relations in many fields," said Ms. Thuong.

Attending the launching ceremony, Professor Shimizu Masaaki, Head of the Department of Vietnamese, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Osaka University, Japan expressed his hope that in the coming time, the center will strengthen cooperation agreements between the Department of Vietnamese, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Osaka University and a number of Vietnamese universities to exchange students, experts, scientists, lecturers between the school and Vietnamese partners in studying, researching, teaching and working for a limited period.
