Marcus Rashford returned to MU at the end of his loan contract at Aston Villa, but his future at Old Trafford remains open.

Rashford is currently on loan at Aston Villa, but did not play in the last two rounds of the 2024/25 Premier League due to a hamstring injury, including the match against Tottenham and especially the final match against MU at Old Trafford.

Rashford was ineligible to play for Villa against his parent club, meaning he played his final game for the Midlands club, ending his loan spell with four goals and six assists in 18 appearances.

Rashford will return to the Carrington training centre to prepare for the pre-season. However, MU has no plans to keep him. Manchester Evening News said the "Red Devils" will look to sell Rashford. The player born in 1997 was dropped from the squad 11 times this season due to his skills and attitude, and had to go to Aston Villa on loan.

MU is said to be ready to part with Rashford for £40 million in the summer transfer window of 2025. Contrary to previous speculation, according to British media, Aston Villa does not have a buyout clause for the 27-year-old striker.

Selling Rashford will not only help MU earn a significant transfer fee, but also reduce the salary burden of up to 325,000 pounds/week. The Old Trafford team plans to use this money to invest in a quality striker to compete with Rasmus Hojlund.

Rashford wants to play for a team that has a ticket to the Champions League. Aston Villa has the right to buy but has not made any clear moves. PSG was interested but has now switched to a policy of rejuvenating the squad. Meanwhile, Barcelona has emerged as a strong candidate, but financial problems may be the biggest obstacle.
