On April 18, on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province, the Binh Thuan Hot Air Balloon Festival - 2025 took place, organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province in coordination with other units.

This is an activity following a series of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Binh Thuan homeland (April 19, 1975 - April 19, 2025), the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025),

The image of hot air balloons glowing in the golden sunlight adds color and liveliness to the coastal city of Phan Thiet during the historic days of April.

On the very first day, the festival attracted thousands of people to visit, take souvenir photos with colorful and beautiful hot air balloons and enjoy the bustling, joyful atmosphere.

Ms. Tran Thu Lan, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said the beauty and brilliant colors of the hot air balloons made her stop to take souvenir photos. The whole route seemed to become lively and very eye-catching.

Le Gia Bao, Phan Thiet city, happily shared: I have been waiting all week to see the hot air balloons that I have only seen on TV before. I will definitely invite my friends to come and see and take souvenir photos.

At this festival, 16 hot air balloons of various colors and sizes were performed and displayed. Of these, 10 hot air balloons were anchored in place along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street to decorate and create a playground for locals and tourists every day.

In addition, depending on weather conditions, the Organizing Committee will fly 4 hot air balloons in fixed suspension; the remaining 2 will serve visitors to visit and experience.

Flight participants will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of Phan Thiet city and its surrounding areas from above. Safety checks and monitoring activities before, during and after the flight are carried out in detail by the Organizing Committee.

Binh Thuan Hot Air Balloon Festival 2025 takes place from now until April 20. Hot air balloon performances for the enjoyment of locals and tourists start from 7am to 8pm every day.

Visitors can visit the photo exhibition space, combining the display and introduction of commercial and tourism products with the theme “Binh Thuan - 50 years of construction, innovation and development”; watch fireworks and a special art program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Binh Thuan on the evening of April 19…

Binh Thuan Hot Air Balloon Festival - 2025 is to contribute to creating new and unique tourism products, promoting the cultural beauty and people of Binh Thuan. The activity contributes to stimulating tourism, attracting domestic and international tourists and investors to Binh Thuan, promoting accelerated development, and soon making tourism an important economic sector of the province.

2025 is the final year to implement the goals, targets and tasks of developing culture, sports and tourism according to the Resolution of the 14th Provincial Party Congress and the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025 of the province.

This year is also a milestone marking the development of Binh Thuan tourism after 30 years, since the total solar eclipse (October 24, 1995). This year, local tourism strives to welcome 10.6 million visitors; of which, international visitors are about 400,000. Revenue from tourism activities is expected to reach VND28,300 billion./.
