Colorful in the model new rural residential area Viet Yen

Viet Yen is a particularly difficult new economic zone that has been reclaimed by local households since 1966. This is a residential area quite isolated from the commune center, located in the mountainous area. In addition to developing gardens and doing agriculture, local people also work for hire and do other side jobs.

The entire Viet Yen village has only 87 households with 328 people, living on a very large area of ​​nearly 100 hectares, so building a new countryside is really a difficult problem for the people.

However, those difficulties and challenges have become the driving force for people to promote the spirit of solidarity, effort and determination. Determining that the new rural area is not only to change the face of the countryside but also to improve the material and spiritual life, people have strongly participated in implementing the criteria for building new rural areas. The revolution of building new rural areas in Viet Yen village has been carried out since 2015, especially exciting in 2018.

Not only contributing labor days to renovate mixed gardens, plant green fences, and clean up the environment, people are also willing to donate hundreds of square meters of land to widen the road from 2-3m to 5-6m; contribute money to buy equipment for the village cultural house...





The movement to eliminate mixed gardens and build model gardens has also been effectively implemented in Viet Yen village. Up to now, the whole village has 28 model gardens, clean house - beautiful garden models for high income. Each household grows and takes care of fresh flowers to create a beautiful landscape.

The people of Viet Yen are also active in production and boldly apply new scientific and technological advances to production. Model gardens, with links to production and product consumption, have significantly increased the profits from agriculture here every year.

In 2019, Viet Yen was the second village of Nam Dien commune to reach the model new rural residential area, achieving 10/10 criteria for a model residential area. Currently, the average income of people in Viet Yen village is 60 million VND/person/year. The whole village has only 2 poor households, both of whom are elderly and single.

Not satisfied with the results achieved, since 2019, the villagers have always maintained the movement of building new rural areas in the area. Every week, people spend 2 working sessions cleaning the roads, village cultural houses; improving the quality of each new rural criterion...



With improved living standards, people have the opportunity to contribute to the construction of infrastructure, cultural and sports facilities. Currently, the village has a cultural house, a spacious and clean sports field, and a recreation area for the elderly and children; 100% of the roads in Viet Yen village are concreted and paved. The roads are named, and electric lines are built to light up the village.

Party cell secretary Le Huu Nam affirmed: " Promoting solidarity and arousing the strength of the people is the most important lesson in building new rural areas. Not only that, cadres and party members must always be pioneers, leaders, and promote the movement among the people. What we are always proud of is the spirit of solidarity and awareness of the common good of the people. Thanks to that, the village has built a civilized and cultural lifestyle, improved the landscape, and the village environment is always green - clean - beautiful... Building new rural areas has become a tradition and habit of the people of Viet Yen".

Viet Yen village is a bright spot in the new rural construction in Nam Dien commune. Although the terrain is large, the population is small and sparse, the spirit of building a new rural area is very high, the village cadres are very responsible. Thanks to that, from a difficult and obstructive village, Viet Yen has gradually changed from the face of the countryside to the lives of the people. Currently, 100% of the houses are solidly built; the surrounding countryside is brilliant with fresh green trees and colorful flowers... Viet Yen has become a destination for many groups of tourists to visit and learn from experiences.

The contributions of Viet Yen village have helped Nam Dien achieve the standard of an advanced new rural commune in 2021 and in early 2025, the province recognized it as a model new rural commune with outstanding achievements in tourism.
