(NLĐO) – In addition to creating job opportunities for students, the Ho Chi Minh City Internship and Job Fair 2024 also expands job application opportunities for workers in the surrounding areas.
On the morning of November 3rd, thousands of students and workers gathered at the Ho Chi Minh City Internship and Job Fair. UEH Career Fair is an annual event organized by the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), aiming to provide students with career guidance, enhance their skills for integration into the labor market, and offer businesses the opportunity to access and recruit potential young talent.
Students in Ho Chi Minh City seek attractive job opportunities through the UEH Career Fair.
Arriving early at the event, Nguyen Dinh Trong, a second-year business administration student at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, said his main goal was to learn about workplace culture.
"I've planned to research several companies, focusing on issues like workplace culture, employee quality of life, entry requirements, etc. This has helped me understand my current capabilities and develop a plan for the next two years, preparing myself before graduation," Trọng expressed.
Sharing his reasons for caring about workplace culture, Trong believes that mental well-being is very important. If you want employees to work well and achieve high productivity, the workplace must be friendly, welcoming, and modern, etc.
Trọng believes this is a good opportunity to survey the recruitment needs of businesses, rather than immediately applying for a job.
At the recruitment event, Mr. Nguyen Dai Nghia, a recruitment expert from Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank), assessed that Generation Z possesses many creative, confident, and dynamic mindsets, and is very good at applying technology. However, the recruitment and retention process still faces difficulties due to the significant age gap between leaders and employees.
"To bridge the gap, the bank is constantly innovating and introducing recruitment policies that are suitable for Gen Z and the current labor market," Mr. Nghia said.
According to Mr. Nghia, most students have a good foundation of banking knowledge after graduation. However, their skills in handling situations and communicating with customers are still limited. Therefore, in addition to recruiting employees, banks always provide many opportunities for students to become interns and gain more experience.

Through the job fair, students have the opportunity to interact, showcase their abilities, and seek employment opportunities at large enterprises.
Associate Professor Bui Quang Hung, Deputy Director of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, said that this job fair offers more than 2000 attractive job positions in many fields for students and workers in Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding areas. Recruitment is conducted in person (one-on-one interviews) at the event and online.
