According to the People's Committee of Sa Pa town, at 4:00 a.m. on May 15, in Group 3, Cau May Ward, Sa Pa town, a landslide occurred, causing a house to collapse. At the time of the landslide, there was one person in the house.
At 8:00 a.m., rescue forces found the victim's body, identified as Ms. Vu Thi L., born in 1958, residing in group 7, Sa Pa ward.
Along with landslides, heavy rains also caused much damage to property and crops of people in Sa Pa town; the O Quy Ho - Cat Cat road was also damaged, making it impossible for vehicles to circulate.

Immediately after the disaster occurred, the Town Party Committee, People's Committee, and the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Sa Pa town quickly arrived, mobilizing more than 100 people to participate in the rescue and overcoming the consequences.
Sa Pa Town also directed units to coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the town and the People's Committee of Cau May Ward to visit and encourage the families of the victims and provide initial support to the victims' families.
At the same time, the People's Committees of communes and wards are required to continue to count the damage to have a solution; strengthen the inspection of areas at high risk of landslides to have preventive measures to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
