The decision to declare an emergency situation is the legal basis for functional units to deploy relief activities and overcome the consequences of natural disasters promptly and effectively.
The prolonged heavy rains have caused serious damage, causing landslides, washing away large areas of productive land, damaging infrastructure, and directly affecting people's lives. The damage in Yen Duong and Dong Phuc communes has exceeded the response capacity of Ba Be district authorities.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment helps Ba Be district organize the implementation of necessary technical measures and support in accordance with regulations.
Currently, the work of supporting the people of Dong Phuc and Yen Duong communes is still being actively implemented in the context of more favorable weather with sunshine and no rain.
To speed up support, Ba Be District Party Secretary Duong Ngoc Thuyet has requested communes in the area not to organize sightseeing and learning activities in any form from May 21; and to focus all resources on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
Military and police units continue to send officers and soldiers to the two communes to help people clean up, maintain hygiene, and stabilize their lives.
Bac Kan Department of Health deployed disinfection spraying; instructed people to ensure hygiene and safety, use clean water; sent staff to examine and treat people; provided computer support to ensure uninterrupted operation of the commune health station.
Bac Kan Provincial Red Cross Society and Bac Kan Provincial Youth Union call for support to deliver to people in severely affected areas.
