Tighten security on Han River, absolutely protect the 2025 International Fireworks Festival

According to the plan, the entire water surface of the Han River area, where the fireworks displays will take place, will be strictly controlled. The city's Border Guard mobilized 6 ships, 20 boats and canoes, along with more than 250 officers and soldiers to deploy densely on the routes, especially near the stands, performance venues and bridges across the river. This force is responsible for patrolling, controlling, and quickly handling unexpected situations, ensuring absolute safety for residents and tourists.

Speaking at the conference, Colonel Tran Cong Thanh, Commander of the City Border Guard, requested: “Officers and soldiers must absolutely not be subjective or negligent, especially during the fireworks display nights, when a large number of people and vehicles gather. We have developed specific scenarios and clearly assigned forces to promptly handle all situations, from disorder to emergencies such as fires and explosions, accidents on the river.”

One of the new features this year is that the City Border Guard coordinated with the Da Nang City Police, Waterway Division I (Department C08 - Ministry of Public Security ) to survey and establish a detailed traffic diversion plan for tourist boats. All tourist boats on the Han River will be thoroughly inspected for licenses, life-saving equipment, and number of passengers before being granted an operating license. Any violations such as carrying more people than the prescribed number or lacking rescue equipment will be strictly handled.

In addition, the border guards also set up checkpoints at both ends of Thuan Phuoc and Rong bridges to prevent unauthorized vehicles from entering the performance area. The “safe zone” plan was also carefully calculated to prevent chaos or congestion on the river.

Notably, the City Border Guard has equipped high-capacity pumps on patrol boats to be ready to respond to fire and explosion situations on the river. At the same time, coordinating with the 115 Emergency Center, arranging medical teams, doctors and Border Guard military medics directly on boats and ships at the checkpoints, ensuring timely emergency response when incidents occur.
