Belarus' Sabalenka won 2-1 (7-6, 4-6, 6-0) in the quarter-finals to end fifth seed Swiatek's 26-match winning streak at the tournament. The victory helped Sabalenka reach her first Roland Garros final and she is aiming for her fourth Grand Slam.
Speaking to BBC Sports after the match, Sabalenka said: "It feels incredible but the job is not done yet. I am very excited about my performance. Iga Swiatek is the toughest opponent, especially at Roland Garros, I am proud to win against her here."
Sabalenka will face American Coco Gauff in the final, who eased to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over world No. 361 Boisson in the other semi-final. This is Gauff's second appearance in the French Open final, having lost to Swiatek in 2022.
Speaking on court after the win, Coco Gauff said: "Lois Boisson is obviously an incredible player. In this tournament, she definitely proved that she is one of the best players in the world, especially on clay. I'm sure we will have many battles in the future. I know you want her to win, but I want to win too. But congratulations to her for having a great tournament. Today happened to be my day."
