This product is manufactured by Central Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company 3, with registration number VD-20384-13. Production batch 01/0823. The drug was manufactured on August 3, 2023, with an expiration date of August 3, 2026.
Accordingly, the above batch of products showed a decrease in content during circulation on the market. This batch of medicine was inspected by the Hai Duong City Testing Center and found to be in violation. After that, the Drug Administration Department issued an official dispatch directing the recall in Hai Duong province, and at the same time expanding the scope of the recall nationwide. Central Pharmaceutical Company 3 reported that it had completed the recall of 189,600 pills on July 31, 2024.
As planned, on August 22, 2024, the company organized the destruction of the batch of drugs at the company's headquarters. The destruction method included removing the secondary packaging, tearing the box, peeling off the blister pack, using a vehicle to crush the drugs in the blister pack multiple times, then soaking them in water to completely destroy the drugs. The destroyed drugs were packed in specialized bags and stored in the waste treatment area.
On May 23, 2025, the company completed procedures to transfer the above-mentioned destroyed products to the environmental company for complete treatment. According to regulations, the company will sign a destruction contract and must supervise the transportation process and witness the destruction. However, the company contacted a private unit to transport the above-mentioned products to Khanh Son landfill for destruction. The drug destruction council failed to supervise the destruction process at Khanh Son landfill.
After discovering the incident at an empty lot in Lien Chieu District, Central Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company 3 quickly coordinated with the authorities to clean up the entire area. At the company meeting room, under the witness of the authorities, the parties determined the quantity and sealed the amount of products with 14kg of blister packs and 84.4kg of empty plastic bottles.
In particular, the company representative admitted to errors in management, failure to contract with a specialized unit to handle according to regulations, and lack of supervision during the destruction process.
The Da Nang City Department of Health has requested the company to urgently report the entire process of recalling and destroying the drug batch in accordance with the direction of the Drug Administration.
