Is Samsung 'hiding' information about the Galaxy S25 Slim?
According to the FCC filing, the three devices with model numbers SM-S931B/DS, SM-S936B/DS, and SM-S938B/DS are almost certainly the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. This fits in with Samsung's naming convention, following on from its predecessor Galaxy S24 models.
However, the Galaxy S25 Slim with model number SM-S937B/DS that was previously rumored is completely absent. Is this a sign that Samsung has canceled plans to launch a 'Slim' version or is it simply delaying the certification?
In addition, the FCC filing also revealed some information about the configuration of the Galaxy S25 series. The Galaxy S25 and S25+ will apparently keep the same 25W charging speed and wireless charging as the previous generation. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will likely continue to use 45W fast charging technology. All three devices are equipped with NFC, Wi-Fi and 5G.
One notable point is that the international versions of all three models support Ultra Wideband (UWB) wireless technology, while the US version of the Galaxy S25 does not. This means US users will have to choose the Galaxy S25+ or S25 Ultra if they want to use UWB-based features like digital car keys or device tracking with SmartTag 2.
Samsung is expected to officially launch the Galaxy S25 series at the Unpacked event in early 2025.
