Useful playground from English Club

Le Minh Ngoc (class 8A2) shared that she has been passionate about learning English since she was a child, so when the school established the club, she signed up to join. Participating in the club, Ngoc and other members experienced many diverse and attractive activities from interactive games, lively group discussions, drama, presentations to watching movies or singing in English. Through that, members have an environment to practice using English as well as critical thinking and creativity.

“When I first joined the club, I was shy and self-conscious, but with the encouragement and motivation of the teachers, I gradually overcame my psychological barriers. Now, I know how to express myself clearly and logically, and confidently communicate in English with friends, teachers and foreigners,” Ngoc shared.

Nguyen Ngoc Khanh Linh (class 6A1) said that she had just joined the club since September 2024. In the club's activities, she likes games such as ring the golden bell, who is a millionaire and dancing to English music. These activities have helped her learn many new words and phrases, grasp grammar structures and practice listening skills. In addition, she also learned about the customs, habits and lifestyles of English-speaking countries.

Ms. Le Thi Ngát, Head of the English Club at Hung Vuong Secondary School, said that the club meets on Saturday afternoons, the first week of each month. Before the meeting, the club's management board will prepare lectures and activities suitable for each topic, ensuring effectiveness and attractive content. After 3 years of operation, the club has attracted more than 160 students from all grades to participate. The club has created a useful playground, arousing the love and improving the ability to use English for students. The club has become a familiar meeting place for many students who share a passion for this language.

Many members of the Club have participated in English competitions and won many awards. For example, at the Gala event between English clubs in the district in 2023 and 2024, in the speech contest with the theme "Decribe a product that you like best to welcome the new Spring 2024", two members of the Club won the first prize. In addition, in recent school years, members of the Club have also participated in many English competitions for excellent students at the district and provincial levels and achieved many high achievements.
