The venue has been closed since early May due to returning the premises to the management unit, the Ministry of National Defense . Before that, the stage rarely had musical activities, the most recent being the live concert UPGENERATION organized by Trinh Thang Binh in 2023.

Along with Trong Dong, 126 is located on Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, Lan Anh with a capacity of more than 3,000 seats is a familiar entertainment address for city residents after its establishment in 1997. This stage often hosts major music shows, live concerts, and live shows of many popular singers.

Lan Anh is also the location chosen by the organizers of the Green Wave Awards to hold award ceremonies for 19 consecutive years since 1998. Music editor Dieu Minh still remembers the S-shaped stage celebrating Saigon's 300th anniversary of the Green Wave Awards in 1998 or the image of the spaceship descending from above in Ho Ngoc Ha's live show in 2011. "Both sides of the stage were always filled with thousands of cheering spectators holding banners and flags," she said.

Hearing the news that the theater was closing, many singers could not help but feel regretful. For nearly 30 years, this place has witnessed the success of many generations of singers such as Lam Truong, Phuong Thanh, Dan Truong, Ho Quynh Huong, My Tam, Dam Vinh Hung, Uyen Linh, Hoang Dung.

Phuong Thanh remembers that in the 2000s, Lan Anh was considered one of the "holy places" of the city's music scene. The stage was invested in carefully in terms of sound effects, lighting and staging compared to other venues of the same period. "In the past, this place was always crowded with audiences and I performed shows every week, regularly," the singer said.

Many organizations and Vietnamese stars rent stages to perform personal live shows that mark their careers. Ho Quynh Huong once performed a live show at this music center in 2011. The singer spent 600 million VND to set up the stage with a sound and lighting system and a 22-meter long catwalk. The audience seats were transformed into a luxurious place like in a theater.

Producer Tran Thanh Huong said: "My youth and work are closely linked to this stage. Every month, I organize here twice for the programs Nhac Buoc Nhac and Tinh Khuc Thuong Thuat Gian , so I am familiar with every corner and the security guards are also familiar with each other."

According to singer Dam Vinh Hung, like 126 and Trong Dong, Lan Anh is a place associated with many glories, the golden age of Vietnamese music. "I feel regretful. This place is now only a memory in the hearts of many people," the singer said.
