The heat of local stalls: crowded customers, real revenue
In the 130,000 m² space of the 1st Autumn Fair - 2025, the local pavilion area became a special highlight, attracting a large number of people and tourists. With more than 3,000 standard booths, including hundreds of booths displaying regional specialties - from agricultural products, processed foods to handicraft products - the fair brought a "vivid picture" of the domestic market in Vietnam.
Fall Fair 2025: A lever to revitalize regional products
It can be seen that the highlight of the fair is the local booth area, which focuses on regional products such as agricultural products, handicrafts, processed foods and green consumer goods. This is the most vibrant area, reflecting the theme "Honoring Vietnamese products - Spreading local identity".
Products such as Shan Tuyet Ha Giang tea, Phu Quoc fish sauce, Dak Lak coffee, Yen Bai cinnamon essential oil, U Minh honey, or bamboo and rattan weaving, ceramics, and handmade wooden products are especially popular with visitors. Many booths recorded high revenue. According to the Organizing Committee, the average revenue of each standard booth reached about 300 million VND in 10 days, the total direct revenue was nearly 1,000 billion VND, with the local booth area alone reaching 50 billion VND. Not only stopping at buying and selling, the total value of transactions, contracts and memorandums of understanding signed at the fair reached up to 5,000 billion VND, of which local enterprises accounted for about 10%.
Sharing with reporters, Mr. Dang Trung Dien, owner of Anh Ba Agarwood Store ( Khanh Hoa ) shared, "We not only sell products but also receive many invitations for cooperation from distribution and export partners. Domestic customers are more interested in refined products and high-end gifts made from agarwood. The fair is truly an opportunity for local businesses to affirm the value of Vietnamese products."
Besides agarwood, many traditional and typical local products such as green rice, rattan and bamboo weaving, ceramics, hand-woven products... attract many visitors. These booths are always full of people experiencing. Artisans perform many art shows right on the spot, making many foreign visitors excited. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, an artisan making green rice in Me Tri ( Hanoi ) said, "Previously, we mainly sold in the neighborhood or through regular customers, but this time when we brought green rice to the fair, the number of customers was very large, many supermarkets and specialty stores placed orders after trying the products. The fair helps people in the profession like us to directly approach consumers and distributors, something that was difficult to do before."
Along with that, many agricultural, organic food and craft village products businesses that have been certified with 3-4 star OCOP also achieved positive revenue. Booths with beautiful designs, experience activities, product testing, and QR code scanning to trace origin often have twice the number of customers compared to traditional booths.
According to the representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the strong consumption of local products at the fair shows that the vitality and internal strength of the domestic market is being awakened. Trade promotion programs not only help businesses sell products but also promote domestic consumption associated with digital transformation, packaging innovation, and brand storytelling.
From experience to expanding the value chain
The Autumn Fair promotes the consumption of handicrafts, agricultural products, and regional specialties, stimulates domestic market potential, and expands opportunities for local businesses.
The difference of the Autumn Fair is that it aims at "comprehensive trade promotion", not only selling goods but also connecting investment, digital transformation and innovation. Talking to reporters, Mr. Ngo Tong Truong, Deputy Director of the Center for Trade, Tourism and Investment Promotion of Dong Thap province, commented that the Autumn Fair has become a "big push" to help local products expand their markets nationwide and internationally. The highlight is the strong transformation of small businesses when combining traditional displays with sales through digital platforms.
"Many booths in Dong Thap province as well as other localities have proactively organized online livestream sessions combined with on-site sales. This multi-channel combination creates a strong ripple effect on social networks, with livestream sessions attracting thousands of views. This success proves that large-scale trade promotion events are acting as a Digital Marketing launch pad, helping local businesses optimize costs, increase recognition and bring local specialty products to a huge number of customers beyond the physical space of the fair," Mr. Truong emphasized.
In addition, international business-to-business (B2B) sessions connecting Vietnamese businesses with partners from Japan, South Korea, China, Singapore, New Zealand and the European Union helped regional products access export markets. By the end of the fair, more than 100 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and cooperation contracts were signed, many of which were related to agricultural products, handicrafts and processed foods.
According to Mr. Vu Ba Phu - Director of the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the 2025 Autumn Fair is a testament to the transformation of domestic trade. Local products not only serve domestic consumption but are gradually participating in the global supply chain. The Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to coordinate with localities to build a sustainable chain of links, helping businesses develop in the long term.
Thousands of handicraft products, agricultural products, and regional specialties are closer to consumers.
From a market perspective, local businesses appreciate the opportunity to meet consumers directly, gauge their tastes and test packaging and pricing. For them, the fair is not only a place to sell, but also a "laboratory" for the domestic market - where new ideas can be tested immediately.
Mr. Tran Hieu, a visitor from Hung Yen, excitedly shared: "I am very proud to see that Vietnamese products are now not inferior to foreign products in terms of design, and also carry their own cultural stories. There are many booths for visitors to experience the profession, processing... very interesting. I buy many local products because I trust the quality and want to support Vietnamese products."
The 2025 Autumn Fair is not only a trade promotion event, but also a "lever" to revive the vitality of the local market, helping thousands of handicrafts, agricultural products, and regional specialties to get closer to consumers. From this success, experts believe that it is necessary to continue maintaining a series of regional thematic fairs, building a digital trade platform for local products, and at the same time supporting small businesses to standardize processes, packaging, and traceability. At that time, Vietnamese goods will not only sell well at the fair but also have a solid position in the domestic and international markets./.
