Bac Ninh: Prosecution of enterprise director for violating mineral exploitation regulations in Lang Giang commune

BAC NINH - After investigating and verifying violations, Bac Ninh Provincial Police have just issued a decision to prosecute a criminal case and prosecute the director of a business related to land exploitation and leveling activities in Ho Vau village, Lang Giang commune.

According to Bac Ninh Provincial Police, in the process of checking and verifying criminal information related to Trung Hieu Limited Liability Company, Toan My village, Lang Giang commune, on October 31, 2025, the Investigation Police Agency of the Provincial Police decided to prosecute the criminal case, decided to prosecute the accused and issued an arrest warrant for Nguyen Van Tham (born in 1969), Toan My village, Lang Giang commune, Director of Trung Hieu Limited Liability Company for the crime of violating regulations on resource exploitation.

Based on initial investigation documents, the Investigation Police Agency of Bac Ninh Provincial Police determined that Trung Hieu Limited Liability Company was granted mineral exploitation license No. 361/QD-UBND by the People's Committee of Bac Giang province (now Bac Ninh province) on May 5, 2020.

Accordingly, this Company is allowed to exploit land for leveling in Cay Va area, Ho Vau village, Tan Hung commune, Lang Giang district, Bac Giang province (now Lang Giang commune, Bac Ninh province) with an exploitation area of ​​5 hectares, the mineral reserves allowed to be exploited are 519,286m3. Exploitation capacity is 120 thousand m3/year within 5 years from the date of license issuance.

During the operation, Nguyen Van Tham directed employees to exploit beyond the permitted area, exceeding the depth and the licensed reserves. The total volume of land that this company exploited was not in accordance with the license, more than 200 thousand m3, causing a loss of more than 5 billion VND.

On November 3, 2025, the People's Procuracy of Bac Ninh province approved the Decision to prosecute the criminal case, the Decision to prosecute the accused, and the Order to arrest the accused for temporary detention against Nguyen Van Tham. On the same day, the Investigation Police Agency of Bac Ninh Provincial Police executed the above Decisions and Orders.
