Located in the town center, Khanh Vinh Stadium has an area of ​​about 1.2 hectares, and is a venue for sports activities, cultural, political and social events of the locality. In the past 2 years, the stadium has been used by Khanh Vinh District People's Committee as a temporary market to serve people's business and trade during the construction of the new Khanh Vinh town market. By the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, the traders were relocated to the newly built, more spacious Khanh Vinh town market. After the traders relocated to the new market, Khanh Vinh Stadium was abandoned and could no longer be used because during the process of being used as a temporary market, many locations were poured with concrete and cement to make the foundation; a large area of ​​​​grass and trees grew wildly...

According to the reporter's observations, in the stadium area, items such as: Stage, stands, surrounding walls... are all degraded and severely damaged. At the time of recording, the inside of the stadium was used as a gathering place, storing materials for the construction of the Khe River embankment...; some areas near the stands had a lot of garbage.

Talking to reporters, some residents said that after no longer being used as a temporary market, the stadium has been left empty until now and the construction items are no longer as before. "In many places in the stadium, garbage is strewn about; the temporary market kiosks after being removed left behind cement and concrete floors... I also don't know if the stadium will continue to be used or not, because it is very shabby and unsightly like this," said Mr. Chung - a resident of Khanh Vinh town.

Previously, Khanh Vinh Stadium was managed by the District Culture - Information and Sports Center. During the time it was used as a temporary market, a part of this area was handed over to Khanh Vinh Town People's Committee by the District People's Committee for management. Mr. Nguyen Phu Khanh - Chairman of Khanh Vinh Town People's Committee said that after the market temporarily stopped operating, the locality had not been instructed on the procedures to hand over the stadium to the District Culture - Information and Sports Center. Currently, a part of the stadium area has been used by a construction unit of the Khe River embankment as a place to store construction materials.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Van Ngoc Huong - Chairman of Khanh Vinh District People's Committee said that after being used as a temporary market, the current Khanh Vinh Stadium will no longer be used, because this area has been planned as commercial service land. The location for the construction of the new stadium has been planned in the eastern area of ​​the town, close to the District Medical Center.

Thus, while waiting for a new stadium to be built in another area, the existing stadium in Khanh Vinh district that has been degraded will not be repaired or used. However, to ensure the landscape of the central area of ​​Khanh Vinh town, local authorities and functional agencies also need to have better management solutions for environmental sanitation and urban landscape.
