Promoting e-commerce of OCOP products in Quang Nam

(QNO) - On the evening of May 16, as part of the series of activities of the exhibition event displaying OCOP products and agricultural products of Quang Nam province in 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Nam province coordinated with the Vietnam E-commerce Association to organize a livestream sales program on the TikTok Shop platform, promoting OCOP products and typical agricultural products of the province.

From digital stage to real shopping cart

With the goal of not only helping OCOP products appear on the internet but also creating real consumer value, this program has attracted the participation of nearly 100 typical products, representing many regions and industries in the province. From traditional products such as fish sauce, grilled coconut cake, cinnamon essential oil, herbal tea to modern products such as filter coffee bags, tapioca starch, functional foods... all are vividly introduced on real booths and in online livestream sessions.

The highlight was the livestream session by TikToker Minh Ngoc Bamboo - one of the prominent faces on the TikTok platform with nearly 70,000 followers. Before entering the livestream, Minh Ngoc visited production facilities such as Ngoc Lan fish sauce, grilled coconut cake, rice paper... to experience the reality, learn about the product story to convey the most authentic and vivid way to consumers.

“Only by directly touching the product and talking to the person who made the product can I tell the story authentically and touch the viewers’ emotions. Livestreaming is not only about selling products, but also a way to connect the culture and people of Quang Nam to customers everywhere” - TikToker Minh Ngoc Bamboo shared.

After less than an hour of broadcasting, the program attracted thousands of live views, hundreds of interactive comments and many orders were closed right on the air. This is a positive signal, showing the appeal of Quang Nam OCOP products when properly communicated on digital platforms.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien - owner of Lac Son Food (Que Son) excitedly said: “We have always struggled with Facebook, only selling to regular customers. Participating in this program, I understand what professional sales on TikTok Shop is. From setting up the space, preparing the script to interacting with customers, everything is carefully invested. This will be the direction we continue to pursue in the future.”

Conquer the digital market

According to Mr. Vo Hung - Deputy Head of the Rural Development Department - Quang Nam Rural Development Department, organizing this livestream program is not only a single product introduction activity but also part of a long-term strategy to digitally transform OCOP products.

Mr. Hung said that to participate in the program, products must meet strict criteria regarding quality, design, mass production capacity and potential for consumption in the online market. The selected subjects all have TikTok accounts and are initially familiar with the form of online sales.

In parallel with the livestream session, the Department of Agriculture and Environment also coordinated with the Vietnam E-commerce Association to organize a training course on digital sales skills for nearly 50 OCOP entities. Here, experts provided instructions on how to create attractive livestream content, how to use supporting equipment such as microphones, LED lights, phone holders, etc., as well as skills in closing orders, customer care, and post-sale order processing.

A representative of VietNamTrade Joint Stock Company - the program's companion, said that in addition to technical support, the unit also connects entities with the professional sales ecosystem on TikTok Shop, from KOLs, distributors to media units to increase customer reach.

E-commerce is not only a trend, but has become an inevitable sales channel in the current context. However, in order not to be left behind, OCOP entities must change their mindset, seriously invest in product quality, build brands and professionalize online sales channels.

Mr. Hung also said that bringing products to the market is a long-term story about brand management, building a professional sales team, linking with major e-commerce platforms and constantly improving customer experience.

“We expect that from these initial steps, there will be more Quang Nam OCOP products not only present on domestic e-commerce platforms but also conquering international markets, contributing to affirming the position of Quang Nam OCOP products on the global consumption map,” Mr. Hung affirmed.
