In less than a week, the men's football event of SEA Games 32 will begin.
Defender Ruventhiran wants to win the 32nd SEA Games with U22 Malaysia
Not long ago, Coach Elavarasan also announced the list of 25 names called up to join the U22 Malaysia team towards the 2023 Southeast Asian Games .
Most of the names mentioned just won the 2023 Merlion Cup with Malaysia.
This is considered a talented and enthusiastic generation of Malaysian football players.
At SEA Games 32, despite being in a very difficult group with the presence of both U22 Vietnam and U22 Thailand, the "Tigers" still showed great confidence.
Even U22 Malaysia defender Ruventhiran declared to overthrow U22 Vietnam to win the SEA Games gold medal.
“We need to make the most of the little time we have left to complete everything. Although we are in a difficult group, we want to win as many matches as possible to reach the semi-finals.
Malaysia’s last SEA Games title was 12 years ago. So this time we want to beat everyone to bring the gold medal back from Phnom Penh,” said Ruventhiran.
In addition, the 22-year-old defender said that he was taught a lot about competition experience at the SEA Games by his former teammates at PJ City Club (members of the Malaysian team that won the 2009 and 2011 SEA Games).
According to the schedule, in this tournament, the yellow and black team will face U22 Laos (May 3), U22 Thailand (May 6), U22 Vietnam (May 8) and U22 Singapore (May 11).
