On the afternoon of February 7, the National Assembly Standing Committee considered and passed a resolution approving the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy on the organization of the Supreme People's Procuracy.


At the meeting, Mr. Ho Duc Anh, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy, said that the Supreme People's Procuracy proposed that the National Assembly Standing Committee issue a Resolution approving the working apparatus of the Supreme People's Procuracy. Accordingly, it will end operations, merge and reorganize a number of Department-level units under the Supreme People's Procuracy with similar functions and tasks or of small scale.

Specifically, the Department of Prosecution and Supervision of Economic Case Investigation (Department 3) and the Department of Prosecution and Supervision of Corruption and Position Case Investigation (Department 5) will be merged. The name of the unit after the merger will be “Department of Prosecution and Supervision of Economic Case Investigation and Corruption”.

Ending the activities of the Emulation and Commendation Department, transferring the tasks to the Office of the Supreme People's Procuracy. Merging the Hanoi University of Procuracy (T2) and the School of Training and Fostering Procuracy in Ho Chi Minh City (T3). The name of the unit after the merger is "University of Procuracy" with the Branch of the University of Procuracy in Ho Chi Minh City on the basis of building a project to restructure the School of Training and Fostering Procuracy in Ho Chi Minh City into "Branch of the University of Procuracy in Ho Chi Minh City".

In addition, restructure and rearrange the two units of the Department of Legislation and Science Management and the Procuracy Magazine into two units: the Department of Legislation and the Institute of Procuracy Science.

Examining the above issue, Ms. Le Thi Nga, Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Judiciary Committee, said that the Standing Committee of the Judiciary Committee found that, according to the research and review report of the Party Committee of the Supreme People's Procuracy, the units proposed to merge and terminate their operations are all units with similar functions and tasks. The units proposed to restructure and rearrange their organizational apparatus are all aimed at meeting the special and extremely necessary needs of the People's Procuracy.

“In Official Dispatch No. 13061-CV/VPTW dated January 12, 2025 of the Party Central Office, the Politburo basically agreed with the review, arrangement and restructuring of the organization in the People's Procuracy sector. Therefore, the Standing Committee of the Judicial Committee approved the Proposal of the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy on the proposal to end the operation, merge and reorganize a number of Department-level units under the Supreme People's Procuracy,” Ms. Nga said.

After discussion, with 100% of the members of the National Assembly Standing Committee in agreement, the National Assembly Standing Committee voted and unanimously passed a resolution approving the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy on the organization of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
