After Hanoi, which province has the largest number of professor and associate professor candidates?

According to the list of candidates proposed for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2024, based on hometown (not based on workplace), Hanoi is still the locality with the largest number of professor and associate professor candidates in the country.

This year, Hanoi has 80 candidates for professor and associate professor.

Right after Hanoi is Thanh Hoa province, contributing 50 candidates for professor and associate professor.

Ha Tinh province surprised everyone when it surpassed Nam Dinh and Thai Binh in the number of professor and associate professor candidates in 2024, ranking 3rd in the country with 37 candidates.

Thai Binh has 35 candidates, Nam Dinh has 34 candidates, Nghe An has 34 candidates.

There are 11 candidates whose hometown is Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the announcement of the State Council of Professors, in 2024, 673 people will be proposed for recognition as professors and associate professors, a decrease of 22 compared to last year.

Among them are 62 professor candidates, 611 associate professor candidates, in 25 fields/interdisciplinary fields.

The two fields with the most candidates are economics and medicine. Of these, economics leads with 108 people, including 6 professor candidates and 102 associate professors. Medicine has 6 professor candidates and 76 associate professors, a total of 82 people.

From August 31 to September 27, the Industry and Interdisciplinary Professor Councils will consider and recognize the qualifications for the title of professor and associate professor in 2024.

From October 21 to 31, the State Council of Professors will meet to consider recognition of meeting the standards for the titles of professor and associate professor in 2024.

In 2023, 49/63 provinces and cities will have people recognized as professors and associate professors.

Hanoi ranked first with 74, Thanh Hoa 45, Nam Dinh 39, Thai Binh 38, Nghe An 32, Bac Ninh 27, Ha Tinh with 25 recognized professors and associate professors.
