On July 6, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee had a working session with Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) and departments, branches and localities on site clearance for the Long Thanh International Airport project.
ACV representative said that the bidding package for construction, building and installation of equipment for Long Thanh airport passenger terminal phase 1 (bidding package 5.10) is currently in the bidding stage. Construction of Long Thanh airport terminal is expected to start in August with a total cost of 35,000 billion VND.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Viet, Deputy General Director of ACV, said that in July, ACV completed the bidding process and selected contractors for this project and started construction in August.
“In August and September, construction of runways, landing pads, and aircraft parking lots will also begin simultaneously,” said Mr. Viet.
To simultaneously start construction of all items within the expected time, ACV recommends that Long Thanh district soon complete the land clearance for the connection (T1 and T2 routes), with special priority given to T1 route.
Regarding site clearance, up to now, Long Thanh district has basically completed the 1,810ha area for phase 1 airport construction and the 722ha area for surplus land reserve.
Mr. Vo Tan Duc, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, requested Long Thanh district to focus on site clearance for the remaining case that has not yet handed over the site. The Department of Finance instructed the district to promptly complete land valuation for this case.
For the 2 routes connecting Long Thanh airport, strive to complete the handover of the entire T1 route in July.
