SeABank affirms its role in the emulation movement of the banking industry in the new period

This is an important event for the whole industry, aiming to review the emulation and reward work in the period of 2020-2025, honor typical and advanced collectives and individuals, and at the same time propose directions and solutions to continue to innovate and improve the quality of emulation movements in the period of 2026-2030, contributing to building a modern and sustainable banking industry.

The Congress was attended by Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council; Representatives of leaders of ministries, departments, central branches and Hanoi city. On the side of the banking sector, there were Central Party Committee member, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong, comrades in the State Bank of Vietnam's Board of Directors and 629 delegates representing nearly 400,000 officials and employees of the whole sector.

Banking sector contributes to macroeconomic stability

At the Congress, the State Bank assessed that the 2020-2025 period is a challenging period, when the world and domestic economies are subject to unprecedented fluctuations. Following the direction of the Party, the National Assembly, and the Government, the banking sector has flexibly and synchronously operated monetary policies, contributing to controlling inflation, stabilizing the macro-economy, supporting growth recovery, making Vietnam one of the few countries to maintain low inflation and stable growth.

Patriotic emulation movements have been widely deployed in association with specific political tasks of the entire industry. Many major movements have made strong impressions such as: emulation to prevent and defeat the COVID-19 pandemic; Movement "For the poor - leaving no one behind"; Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses with a total support of more than 1,815 billion VND, equivalent to 30,000 new houses; Emulation movement for digital transformation, digital infrastructure development, administrative procedure reform, credit support for highways and emulation to practice thrift and fight waste.

Gender equality work and the movement "Good at banking, good at housework" have achieved many outstanding results: more than 90% of female cadres have achieved the title "Two-good women" every year; The rate of female leaders at the Department level has reached 32.2% (exceeding the 2030 target); The rate of female participation in the Party Committee has reached 45.6%.

Within the framework of the Congress, SeABank was recognized as one of eight outstanding banks in the entire system for its positive contributions to the patriotic emulation movement, digital transformation, product and service development and community support.

At the exhibition area introducing the achievements of the Banks at the Congress, SeABank was honored to be one of the 8 banks with outstanding results in business activities, patriotic emulation, digital transformation and social responsibility, reaffirming its commitment to accompany the Banking industry and the community in all stages of development.

Notably, SeABank is the only joint stock commercial bank in this period to be awarded the First Class Labor Medal by the President - a noble award recognizing outstanding achievements, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland. This is an important milestone, affirming SeABank's persistent efforts and responsibility in contributing to the overall development of the banking industry.

At the Congress, the Governor of the State Bank launched a new emulation movement for the 2026-2030 period with the theme: "The banking industry competes to innovate, create, and pioneer with the country to enter an era of strong, civilized, and prosperous development."

The banking sector also pledged to reduce interest rates by up to 2% for existing loans of businesses affected by storms and floods; and initially support 150 billion VND to help overcome the consequences of natural disasters through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

The 9th National Emulation Congress of the Banking Industry is an important political event, continuing to affirm the tradition of patriotic emulation of the industry. The noble awards of the Party and the State are a great source of encouragement, creating motivation for the Banking industry, including SeABank, to continue to innovate, create, develop modernly, safely and effectively, contributing to the successful implementation of the country's socio-economic development goals in the new period.
