As a guest conductor in the Thang Long Night concert at the Hanoi National Academy of Music, Tran Nhat Minh was warmly cheered by the audience when he led an international group of artists to play symphonies adapted from Vietnamese folk songs.
His energetic conducting style led the audience through many emotional ranges, sometimes deep with the quan ho melodies Ra ngo vao trong, Se chi lo kim , sometimes explosive with sounds borrowed from the Northwest such as Phien cho mien cao, Dieu vu. In addition to the ethnic material repertoire, Tran Nhat Minh also participated in the performance of the prelude to The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini, and Norma by Vincenzo Bellini - two great composers of Italy.
