State-level preliminary review of the 50th anniversary celebration of the liberation of the South and national reunification

The State Preliminary Review Ceremony of the parade has 38 groups of armed forces (25 groups of army, militia, 13 groups of police force), 12 groups of parade representing mass organizations.

On the evening of April 25, on Le Duan Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, the Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important historical events of the country in the three years 2023-2025 organized a State-level preliminary review of the military parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Attending and directing the Preliminary Review program were Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee for the celebration of major holidays and important historical events of the country in the 3 years 2023-2025; Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense ; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Mr. Mai Van Chinh, Deputy Prime Minister; General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Head of the Parade Subcommittee, along with a number of leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security ; representatives of leaders of ministries, branches and Ho Chi Minh City attended the Preliminary Review ceremony.

The opening ceremony was a welcome art performance with the participation of more than 1,000 people. It included a drum performance with the theme "Epic of Victory" by the People's Police Academy with more than 800 drums of all kinds, including 9 thunder drums, and a gun dance with the theme "The Country is Full of Joy," an art formation by the Military Ceremonial Troupe, and an art performance by artists from Ho Chi Minh City.

The parade rehearsal program began with the flag-raising ceremony amidst the resounding sound of 21 cannon shots by the Artillery Team at Bach Dang Wharf, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. Leading the parade program was a group of Honorary Vehicles including a model vehicle bearing the National Emblem of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; a vehicle carrying the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh; and a vehicle symbolizing the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

The National Emblem model car with the National Emblem placed on the symbol of a Lac bird, flying up, represents will and aspiration. Accompanying the car, holding colorful silk ribbons, are 54 outstanding students, symbolizing the strong solidarity of 54 ethnic groups - the invincible strength forged through thousands of years of building and defending the country, crystallizing into the miraculous strength of our army and people that created the Great Victory in the Spring of 1975.

Following the Party flag and national flag block is the procession carrying the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh with 50 outstanding young people and children, images of the future owners of the country accompanying the car. Next is the symbolic car of 50 years of the Liberation of the South, the reunification of the country with the half-red-half-blue flag of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam as an affirmation that the Great Victory of Spring 1975 is a heroic page in the history of building and defending the country of the nation; marking the moment of completing the glorious historical mission; liberating the South, reunifying the country; bringing our country into a new era - the era of independence, unification and building a socialist Vietnam - a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, civilization. Accompanying the car are 50 outstanding young people.

Participating in the State-level preliminary rehearsal of the parade were 38 groups of armed forces (25 groups of army, militia, 13 groups of police) and 12 parade groups representing mass organizations...

Specifically, the parade of the army and militia groups includes command vehicles, the flag team of the entire army; the female military band group; the group of officers representing the five military wings; the Liberation Army soldier group; the army officer group; the navy officer group; the air defense-air force officer group; the border guard officer group; the coast guard officer group; the logistics-technical officer group; the female information officer group; the female military medical officer group; the electronic warfare soldier group; the cyber warfare force group; the Vietnamese female peacekeeper group; the army soldier group; the armored soldier group; the special forces soldier group; the female commando soldier group; the paratrooper special forces soldier group; the male maritime militia group; the female guerrillas of the South; the female militia of the North and the red flag group.

Parade of the police blocks including command vehicles and police teams with all forces; block of male people's security officers; block of male people's police officers; block of male fire prevention and fighting police officers; block of people's police air force officers; block of female traffic police officers; block of male Ho Chi Minh City police officers; block of UN peacekeeping police officers; block of male mobile police soldiers; block of female special police soldiers; block of male mobile police soldiers in combat reserve; block of male forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level; block of mobile police cavalry.

12 parade blocks include the block Honoring the Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes, and typical historical witnesses (parading on vehicles); Vietnam Fatherland Front; veteran block; former youth volunteer liberation block; workers block; farmers block; intellectuals block; businessmen block; Vietnamese compatriots abroad block; women block; children and youth block; culture-sports block.

The parade bloc of armies from China, Laos, and Cambodia participated in the parade and marching program at the preliminary rehearsal.

On the same morning, a formation of helicopters and fighter jets also conducted training flights in the sky above downtown Ho Chi Minh City.

The State-level rehearsal is expected to take place on the morning of April 27 on Le Duan Street. The ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) will be held at 6:30 a.m. on April 30, 2025, with the participation of about 13,000 people./.
