The number of people receiving one-time social insurance benefits has decreased significantly.

(CT) - According to the Vietnam Social Security (VSS), since the beginning of the year, the number of employees completing procedures to receive one-time social insurance benefits has decreased significantly compared to the same period in 2024. Accumulated to the end of March 2025, the whole country had 267,493 people receiving one-time social insurance benefits, a decrease of nearly 70,000 people, equivalent to 26.17%, compared to the same period in 2024. This is a good sign, showing that employees increasingly trust and are more aware of the benefits of social insurance policies. This positive change is thanks to the efforts of the Vietnam Social Security sector in communication work, serving participants and beneficiaries of the policy, especially in the context of new organizational arrangements and organization.

In addition, the number of people participating in social insurance nationwide continued to increase by 8.7% compared to the same period in 2024. The number of people participating in unemployment insurance increased by 8.49%. The number of people participating in health insurance increased by 2.28%.

In Can Tho City, in the first 3 months of 2025, the city had 150,458 people participating in compulsory social insurance, an increase of 7,653 people compared to the same period in 2024; 24,982 people participating in voluntary social insurance, an increase of 4,578 people compared to the same period in 2024; 143,429 people participating in unemployment insurance, an increase of 7,725 people compared to the same period in 2024; 1,079,050 people participating in health insurance, reaching a coverage of 85.21% of the population, an increase of 6,779 people compared to the same period in 2024...

According to Vietnam Social Security, the sector has officially operated under the new organizational model under the Ministry of Finance from March 1, 2025 at the central level and from April 1, 2025 at the regional and inter-district levels. The work of reorganizing the apparatus is being carried out simultaneously with ensuring the implementation of political tasks and serving the people and businesses.
