Emergency evacuation of people from 13 communes from flooded areas

A residential area along the Ca Lo River in Viet Long Commune (Soc Son District) was flooded.

In the past few days, Soc Son district has had moderate to heavy rain. Prolonged rain over a large area has caused the water level of Cau River and Ca Lo River to rise, causing flooding in many villages, hamlets along the river, coastal areas...

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Hanoi City has issued a Level III Flood Warning Order on Cau and Ca Lo rivers. Currently, the water level of the two rivers has also exceeded the historical flood peak and continues to rise, posing a risk to the safety of communes affected by river floods.

To ensure the safety of the dike, the safety of life and property of the State and the People, and minimize the damage caused by floods and natural disasters that may occur, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Soc Son district assigned the Chairman of the People's Committee - Head of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of the communes: Bac Son, Hong Ky, Trung Gia, Tan Hung, Bac Phu, Viet Long, Xuan Giang, Duc Hoa, Kim Lu, Xuan Thu, Dong Xuan, Thanh Xuan, Phu Lo to urgently review and immediately deploy plans to evacuate and relocate people to respond to river floods.

Special attention should be paid to Lai Son village (Bac Son commune); village 8 (Hong Ky commune); An Lac village, Hoa Binh village (Trung Gia commune); Ngo Dao village (Tan Hung commune); Luong Phuc village (Viet Long commune); Kim Thuong village (Kim Lu commune); Yen Phu village (Xuan Thu commune).

Local authorities propagate and resolutely mobilize people in areas at risk of river floods, inundation, and danger to evacuate and move to safe places as instructed.

If households do not cooperate in evacuation and relocation, the Chairman of the People's Committee - Head of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of the communes shall assess the situation and the level of impact on the safety of related households; based on the provisions of law to implement measures to enforce evacuation and relocation to ensure the safety of people according to regulations.
