According to comrade Quach Thi Thanh Binh - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, up to now, the total number of fishing vessels registered in the province is 792, of which, the fishing vessels with the longest length of 15 meters or more are 341, fully updated in the national fisheries database VNFishbase. The province has completed the registration of "3 no" fishing vessels, resulting in the issuance of registration certificates, inspections, and fishing licenses for 100% of fishing vessels and fully updated in the national fisheries database VNFishbase; the inspection of 329/464 vessels has been extended, reaching nearly 71%. Organized 19 inspections, patrols, and surveillance at sea; coordinated with the Coast Guard Command 4 to conduct 3 joint patrols in the Southeast sea, inspecting 582 fishing vessels...
Completing the dossier, deciding to fine 15 fishing vessels with a length of 24 meters or more that lost VMS connection for more than 6 hours at sea and did not report their location to shore. To strengthen the fight against IUU fishing, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment organized 12 classes to disseminate the 2017 Fisheries Law and coordinated with relevant units to organize 3 training sessions to disseminate legal regulations on preventing and combating IUU fishing... Particularly for the preparation work to welcome the Inspection Delegation of the European Commission (EC), the Department of Agriculture and Environment assigned a focal point to proactively contact the delegation.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Vuong Quoc Nam requested relevant units to continue to perform well the registration and inspection work; control and manage fishing vessels entering and leaving the port well. The Department of Agriculture and Environment provided full information on the number of registered and inspected vessels, and licensed vessels; established a team to review the fleet, paying attention to checking 1-no and 2-no vessels; advised on developing plans or actions, and directing the work of combating IUU fishing; and implemented forms for reviewing fishing vessels. For localities with fishing vessels at sea, closely coordinate with relevant units in managing fishing vessels at sea in accordance with the law, as well as reviewing each local fishing vessel. The provincial Border Guard supported and coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to control the number of fishing vessels entering and leaving the port well; inspected fishing vessels, and avoided violating foreign waters...
