The inspiration for the one-off Rolls-Royce Phantom Dentelle comes from a rare “Leavers loom” lace fabric – featuring three-dimensional petals and soft pearls. The lace’s intricate structure and soft colour palette served as inspiration for both the exterior and interior design of the car. Phantom Dentelle has a two-tone exterior paint scheme: Crystal over Arctic White and Crystal over Palais Nemasker Dawn.
The Arctic White and Crystal colors are custom-made. The double coachline is painted in Sunrise and accented with a hand-painted motif of a leaf branch with pearl “fruits,” in keeping with the artistic theme. Phantom Dentelle is equipped with 22-inch fully polished wheels with body-colored rim caps, lightly outlined in Arctic White. The high-gloss polished Pantheon grille is topped by a specially crafted Spirit of Ecstasy in rose gold. Bespoke, intricately engraved treadplates are also finished in the same colour to create a cohesive look.
The Gallery space is a special highlight only found on Phantom models, spanning the entire width of the dashboard to display Bespoke artwork designed specifically for the owner. On this unique version, Bespoke designers have created a floral painting from premium lace, using a variety of embroidery techniques, thread densities and color tones – Rose Gold, Sunrise and Oatmeal – to vividly recreate the texture of each petal and fern leaf. The base layer of the work is created using a three-layer embroidery technique, on which the floral details are defined with satin stitches to give a silk-like shine. Embossed accents are added to recreate the pearl details, giving the overall look depth and gently reflecting the light. The entire Gallery space is completed with 160,000 stitches.
The floral lace embroidery continues on the Waterfall section between the rear seats, which features 70,000 stitches. The experts chose rose gold for the mesh to create a harmonious highlight for the interior of the car. In addition to the embroidery, the interior of the Phantom Dentelle is finished with Piano White veneer, Sunrise and Grace White leather, and the brand initials “RR” embroidered on the headrests of each seat. The Phantom Dentelle is a car commissioned by a customer through Rolls-Royce’s “private office” in Dubai. This invitation-only office brings the Goodwood experience closer to Rolls-Royce customers in the Middle East.
