Immediately after graduating from military academies and schools, the young officers were assigned to Division 9 with pride and a desire to contribute and grow. However, along with the honor, there were many feelings of confusion and anxiety when taking charge of a training unit and combat readiness for the first time...

Not only having to adapt to the new living environment, young officers also face challenges in managing and commanding troops, organizing training, political and ideological education, and building a disciplined and combat-ready system. However, in this challenge, the spirit of "dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility" has been strongly promoted by young officers.

Lieutenant Pham Hoang Luan, Deputy Political Commissar of Company 3, Battalion 4, Regiment 2, Division 9, chatted and listened to soldiers' thoughts during break time.

Second Lieutenant Ho Dang Duc, Platoon Leader of Platoon 9, Company 7, Battalion 5 (Regiment 2, Division 9) shared: “As a young officer fresh out of school, I always have the desire to contribute, to be trained and to mature. I wish to contribute my best to building the unit, striving to be worthy of the glorious tradition of the heroic Division”.

As for Lieutenant Pham Hoang Luan, Deputy Political Commissar of Company 3, Battalion 4 (Regiment 2, Division 9), although the new job still has many difficulties, it is a valuable opportunity to train himself: "I am always aware of the role and responsibility of a political officer. I want to be close to and understand the soldiers, contribute to building strong Party cells and Youth Unions, and create solidarity in the unit. I consider it an honor and also a task, responsibility and opportunity to contribute, to demonstrate my qualities and abilities."

Understanding the thoughts and important role of young officers in the unit, the Party Committee and Command of Division 9 always pay close attention to the work of receiving, managing, training and fostering young officers. As soon as the comrades arrived at the unit, Division 9 organized tours for young officers to learn traditions and organize training courses on experience in commanding and managing troops; at the same time, assigned experienced officers to directly mentor and guide them.

Cultural and artistic activities at Division 9 always attract many young officers and soldiers to participate.

Colonel Nguyen Huu Thang, Political Commissar of Division 9, said: “We identify the young officers as an important successor force. Therefore, the process of training, testing and nurturing is very necessary. In addition to arranging work suitable to each comrade’s capacity, we also assign specific tasks for them to learn and mature in practical work.”

Talking to many officers, we witnessed the spirit of learning, the will to overcome difficulties and the desire to contribute of the young officers quickly spreading throughout the units. Many comrades have proactively researched and innovated training methods; actively learned from the experiences of senior officers; been close to and grasped the thoughts and aspirations of soldiers to promptly orient their thinking and build solidarity and close relationships within the unit.

In battalions and companies, the activities of the Youth Union and Party cells have been innovated in both form and content, creating closeness and effectiveness. Many young officers have actively participated in the Youth Union activities, cultural - artistic and sports movements, thereby improving the spiritual life of soldiers, contributing to building a strong and comprehensive unit.

Although they have not worked at the unit for long, the young officers who have just graduated from the 9th Division have not only performed well as commanders and deputy company political commissars, but have also become shining examples in studying, training, lifestyle, and working style. With a high sense of responsibility and exemplary behavior, they have actively contributed to the training results, combat readiness, and building a disciplined system in the unit.

Not only have they matured in their character, working methods and commanding abilities, the young officers have also shown maturity in their thinking, scientific, creative and effective working style. This is the result of a serious training process in the military environment, and at the same time reflects the effectiveness of the management, education and training of newly graduated young officers of Division 9.

The desire to contribute of the young officers is an important driving force for Division 9 to continue to successfully complete assigned political tasks, build a strong, comprehensive, "exemplary, typical" unit, ready to mobilize and excellently complete tasks when situations arise.

The first steps of maturity of young officers newly graduated will be a solid foundation for them to go further in the future, worthy of being the next generation of elite cadres, continuing the tradition of the heroic Division 9 in the new era.
