Earlier, in the early morning of October 28, heavy rain caused a hill to collapse, burying the road to Ngoc Nang village, cutting off traffic. All five villages, including Ngoc Nang, Mo Po, Sa Ua, Ngoc Lang and Tu Rang, with nearly 500 households and about 1,700 people, mainly Xo Dang people, were completely isolated.
Immediately after being isolated, the authorities of Ngoc Linh commune and functional forces of Quang Ngai province mobilized forces to overcome and open temporary roads to transport necessities, especially food, provisions, and medicine to the people.
