Implementing the national and provincial policy on green energy conversion, Hai Ha Industrial Park Company Limited, the investor of Hai Ha Industrial Park infrastructure, is the first unit in the province to apply measures to control emissions and reduce dependence on fossil energy sources by agreeing to allow secondary investors in the Industrial Park to install rooftop solar power. Accordingly, Ngan Ha Technical Technology Company Limited has invested in a rooftop solar power project, with a total investment of about 100 billion VND. Solar panels are installed on the roof of the factory, with an area of over 160,000m2 , with a power generation capacity of over 20,000kW. It is expected that in November 2025, the project will officially come into operation and meet about 30% of the Company's total electricity consumption.
According to the leader of Ngan Ha Technical Technology Co., Ltd., investing in rooftop solar power not only effectively utilizes renewable energy from factory roofs, reducing production costs, but also meets the strict requirements of customers from Europe and the United States when requiring manufactured products to have emission certificates and meet carbon adjustment mechanism (CBAM) standards. Without these criteria, products manufactured by textile enterprises in Hai Ha Industrial Park will be highly taxed based on the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions in the production process.
Currently, enterprises in Hai Ha Industrial Park are creating millions of square meters of roofs capable of installing large-sized solar panels from manufacturing factories. Currently in Vietnam, the solar energy absorption rate is about 4.58kWh/ m2 /day. Thus, if the roofs in Hai Ha Industrial Park are installed with solar panels, they will generate millions of kWh of electricity every day, ensuring a part of the production and business of the factories, contributing to reducing electricity costs and minimizing environmental pollution.
From the initial success of Ngan Ha Technical Technology Co., Ltd., the investor of Hai Ha Industrial Park infrastructure is also encouraging secondary investors to invest in and use renewable energy sources. At the same time, continue to implement projects to reduce emissions in the production process. In particular, the project on environmental protection science and technology will be put into trial operation. In this project, with the application of modern science and technology, it is possible to treat sludge to produce steam and use steam to generate electricity. This is a production model applied according to the circular economy .

Mr. Wuxian Hong, Deputy General Director of Hai Ha Industrial Park Company Limited, said: Accompanying Quang Ninh province in the orientation of developing clean, environmentally friendly industry and converting to green energy, we are researching and planning to apply for converting the construction policy of a 2,100MW coal-fired power plant project into a new energy power plant project in Hai Ha Industrial Park.
Not only Hai Ha Industrial Park but many other industrial parks in the province are also being oriented to develop into ecological industrial parks with very high environmental standards. Typical examples are Bac Tien Phong Industrial Park, Nam Tien Phong Industrial Park, Song Khoai Industrial Park.
Mr. Truong Manh Hung, Head of the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board, said: In the energy sector, Quang Ninh is promoting energy conversion towards green growth, focusing on wind power and LNG power to gradually reduce dependence on fossil energy. In particular, according to the eighth power plan, Quang Ninh is supplemented with 5,000 MW of offshore and onshore wind power. At the same time, the province is also encouraging the conversion of coal-fired thermal power projects to gas power, thereby contributing to the implementation of sustainable development goals in the coming period.
The use of green energy and renewable energy in production and daily life is an urgent task and an important solution to make the most of available natural energy sources, reduce dependence on fossil energy sources, reduce emissions and protect the environment. This is also the province's first solution to contribute to realizing Vietnam's commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
