“Consecutive storms have caused devastating consequences in Vietnam. At Sun Life, we are committed to standing by our clients, employees, financial advisors and communities affected by these natural disasters. In 2024, we supported 500 households, providing livelihoods, clean water and essential resources to those affected by Typhoon Yagi . This year, we reaffirm Sun Life’s commitment to Vietnam by continuing to support communities in recovering and rebuilding after natural disasters,” said Randy Lianngara, President, Sun Life Emerging Markets.

The Red Cross has promptly conducted surveys in the affected areas to develop the most practical and effective support plan. This support will focus on providing clean water (water purifiers) and learning equipment (computers) to schools devastated by storms and floods, helping students quickly catch up with their learning progress.

Sun Life Vietnam CEO, Ms. Lay Hoon Tan, also shared: “We stand with the group in our commitment to provide essential resources and support during this difficult time. In collaboration with the Vietnam Red Cross Society, Sun Life Vietnam is working quickly and diligently to provide learning equipment and clean water to students at schools affected by the storm. We hope this support will contribute to bringing a brighter future for students.”

Specific support activities will be deployed by the Red Cross in the coming days, with close coordination with Sun Life Vietnam, to ensure that the support reaches the right place in need in the fastest and most effective time.
