Welcoming the success of the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party, on October 22, in Hanoi, Hanoi People Magazine organized a seminar "Raising awareness, sense of responsibility and exploiting and promoting the intellectual resources of the capital's artists and writers in effectively implementing the key tasks of the 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Committee, term 2025-2030".
Inspire pride, responsibility and creative aspirations
In his opening speech, journalist Vuong Minh Hue, Editor-in-Chief of Hanoi People Magazine, said that the 18th Congress of Hanoi Party Committee, term 2025-2030, taking place from October 15 to 17, 2025, is an important political event for the Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of the Capital. At the Congress, delegates unanimously approved the Congress Resolution with 5 development viewpoints, affirming that "Promoting the thousand-year tradition of civilization, building elegant and civilized Hanoi culture and people are the pillars". This is a viewpoint that demonstrates the strategic vision of the City Party Committee on the role of culture, considering culture not only as the spiritual foundation of society but also as an endogenous resource and driving force for the development of the Capital.
According to journalist Vuong Minh Hue, in the context of deep international integration, the strong digital transformation process, along with the intersection of value systems, tastes and lifestyles, preserving and promoting the cultural identity of Thang Long - Hanoi is becoming more urgent. This is not only the responsibility of state management agencies but also requires the cooperation of the whole society, in which the capital's artists - the core force, play a pioneering role in creating, cultivating and spreading the cultural, artistic and humanistic values of Hanoi.
The seminar "Raising awareness, sense of responsibility and exploiting the intellectual resources of the capital's artists in effectively implementing the key tasks of the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, term 2025-2030" is an opportunity for leaders, managers, researchers and artists in the capital to exchange, contribute ideas, and clarify the roles, responsibilities and solutions to promote the creative potential of artists in successfully implementing the goals set out in the Resolution of the 18th Hanoi Party Congress. This is also an opportunity to look back and evaluate the role of artists in the process of building and developing Hanoi's culture, arousing the pride, sense of responsibility and creative aspirations of artists in the new period.
Promote artists to participate with new vitality
At the seminar, delegates analyzed the role and position of culture, literature and arts in the development strategy of Hanoi Capital in the spirit of Resolution of the 18th Congress; analyzed the role and responsibility of the capital's artists in implementing the city's key tasks in the period 2025-2030, especially in building elegant and civilized Hanoians; at the same time, proposed specific solutions to effectively promote the intellectual resources of artists, from policy mechanisms, creative environment, investment in culture, to the connection between professional associations, cultural institutions and management agencies...
Journalist Ho Quang Loi, Vice President of the Vietnam Digital Communications Association, former member of the Standing Committee, former Head of the Propaganda Department of the Hanoi Party Committee, former Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, affirmed that this discussion is very meaningful, demonstrating the initiative and creativity of artists in bringing the Resolution of the 18th City Party Congress into life, in the very important task of developing culture and building elegant and civilized Hanoians.
Journalist Ho Quang Loi believes that the capital has a strong team of artists and intellectuals, full of potential and enthusiasm for dedication. The talent of artists is a valuable asset of the capital and the country. With a special power of inspiration, artists and writers, through their works, contribute to nurturing the soul, becoming a moving light and contributing to awakening those who have not lived a beautiful life in Hanoi. That power of inspiration is deeper than superficial slogans.
Citing the successes of the City Creative Design Festival, Ao Dai Festival, and national-scale concerts attracting tens of thousands of people, journalist Ho Quang Loi commented that the city not only cares but also creates conditions for artists to develop their talents. It can be said that artists have never had the opportunity to develop their creativity like today. Therefore, in the coming time, artists need to join in with new vitality, wholeheartedly, enthusiastically create and contribute to the capital and the country.
Poet Bang Viet, former Chairman of the Hanoi Literature and Arts Association, said that looking at the Resolution of the City Party Congress, especially on developing Vietnamese culture and people, it can be seen that the task of the capital's artists is very large, and in this period, they must be more proactive, have many strong initiatives to be able to change the situation and position in their professional activities as well as create major breakthroughs.
Citing the success of music and cinema in recent times in building the culture and people of Hanoi into an elegant and civilized one, poet Bang Viet asked writers, poets, painters, photographers, architects, etc. to also achieve similar results in the coming period, drawing a panoramic picture of Vietnamese literature and art in these years of innovation and comprehensive development. That requires artists to improve their creativity, surpassing previous requirements, reaching the continental and international level.
Writer Bui Viet My, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Writers Association, said that in order to promote the brainpower and intellectual resources of the capital's artists in the right focus, it is necessary to further concretize solutions to promote literary and artistic creation associated with each task of the city's Party Committee in the new term. The city orients and organizes activities to promote artists' creations about great achievements in all fields of labor, construction and development for the happiness of the capital's people; portrays good people, good deeds, people with beautiful lifestyles, dare to innovate, know how to sacrifice for the community; renew traditional culture with contemporary creativity; encourage comments on urban architectural planning, traffic, environmental sanitation; fight against wrongful and negative manifestations...
In order to carry out one of the key tasks of the 18th City Party Congress, which is to develop the cultural industry to "become a spearhead economic sector" and "promote human resource development", according to Dr. Tran Thi Minh Thu (Vietnam Institute of Culture, Arts, Sports and Tourism), the capital's artists need to proactively innovate their thinking, raise awareness of the cultural industry; constantly promote their talents, improve their professional quality, and at the same time understand Hanoi's culture to promote outstanding values in creation, attracting the public to love and experience.
Poet and journalist Nguyen Quang Hung, Deputy Head of the Special Topics Department - Nhan Dan Newspaper, suggested that many "doors" should be opened to spread literary and artistic works in the capital. Investing in the construction of modern and advanced theaters, exhibition halls, cinemas... not only in the city center but also in the suburbs, helps the works reach the public, contributes to orienting and improving the aesthetics of the public...
Concluding the discussion, Deputy Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Dao Xuan Dung affirmed that the opinions and discussions at the discussion are valuable sources of information and important practical bases for authorities at all levels and functional agencies to absorb, research, and develop specific programs and action plans, contributing to promoting the role, position and responsibility of artists in the new period.
