The driver named NH said that he took a group of 38 people to a restaurant on Highway 51B in Long Thanh ( Dong Nai province). Afterwards, the restaurant served the driver a free meal as a thank you.

According to the driver's assessment, the meal was quite frugal, consisting of only a pot of rice, some boiled squash, and a pot of braised fish with two small pieces of fish.

Dissatisfied with the restaurant owner's behavior, Mr. NH shared his experience with a warning that "contract drivers should avoid this restaurant".

According to this driver, he did not receive any commission from the restaurant, only the meal as described in the picture. With 18 years of experience in transporting passengers, this person said that "he has never encountered such bad treatment from a restaurant".

The NH driver's post immediately received a large amount of interaction with more than 1.3 million views and many mixed comments. Many of them said that it was difficult to judge whether the restaurant's handling of the situation was right or wrong. However, the restaurant owner could have acted more tactfully.

"Obviously, the driver brought 38 customers to the restaurant, which means bringing in revenue. Small businesses should respect those who bring them food. No matter how rich or poor, a decent meal for the driver would be better. However, some people who have eaten at this establishment said that the restaurant was originally a cheap restaurant, not a rest stop. When the driver brought the customer there, the restaurant thanked him with a free meal. However, the number of dishes in the meal depended on the economic conditions of each restaurant.

According to investigation, the food business where the dispute occurred is Tai Map restaurant located on National Highway 51B, Long Thanh (Dong Nai province).

Speaking with Dan Tri reporter, the shop owner confirmed the incident happened on May 25.

"What the driver wants to say is their business. The restaurant has been in business for decades, it's just a cheap restaurant, not a rest stop," said the restaurant owner, Ms. A.

According to the owner, if the driver brings a customer, the shop will offer a free meal. In case the driver eats with the customer, he will be offered extra cigarettes and water.

The restaurant does not pay commissions or envelopes like some rest stops on the highway because it reports the exact price of the meal to customers. On holidays or when tourists come to eat, the restaurant does not charge any additional fees.

"On the day of the incident, the driver discussed with us about the meal. Afterwards, we went to the table where some drivers were eating and asked if there was anything else we could add, but no one complained.

Regarding the rice, if the driver feels like he is not full, just let him know and the restaurant will serve more. However, we also apologize to the driver for the bad experience," the restaurant representative shared.
