Accordingly, on February 28, Cau Giay District Police received a report from Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc, Head of the Mai Dich Communal House Management Subcommittee (Cau Giay, Hanoi) about a thief breaking into the communal house and stealing nearly 50 million VND from a safe.

Realizing that the case was complicated and had a negative impact on security and order, the District Police Command directed the Criminal Police Team and Mai Dich Ward Police to synchronously deploy professional investigation measures to clarify the perpetrators of the crime.

During the investigation, the Criminal Police Team of Cau Giay District Police and Mai Dich Ward Police identified the subject who committed the theft as Chu Van An.

At around 12 noon on March 2, the task force of the two units arrested the subject while he was hiding in a game shop in the district.

Notably, Chu Van An has two previous convictions for theft of property.

The case is under investigation and clarification.

Previously, on January 23, Ba Vi District Police (Hanoi) temporarily detained a group of suspects who broke into donation boxes and stole money, including: Nguyen Manh Quynh (born 2008, in Minh Quang Commune, Ba Vi District, Hanoi), Ha Kim Tuyen (born 2007) and Nguyen Duy Quan (born 2009), all residing in Dong Trung Commune, Thanh Thuy District ( Phu Tho Province).

On January 8, these subjects broke into 9 donation boxes at a relic in Minh Quang commune, stealing about 8 million VND. On January 13, Ba Vi district police caught the subjects while they were playing billiards in Tay Tuu ward, Bac Tu Liem district (Hanoi).

At the police station, the subjects confessed that because they had no stable jobs and ran out of money, and were addicted to billiards, Nguyen Manh Quynh invited Ha Kim Tuyen and Nguyen Duy Quan to go from Tay Tuu ward, Bac Tu Liem district to temples and pagodas in Ba Vi district to break into donation boxes and steal money.
