The Bay Hoang dried banana production facility of Mr. Tran Duy Thanh's family (Hamlet 10B, Tran Hoi Commune) has been in business for over 30 years. In the early years, starting as a small-scale production, the dried bananas were made using traditional manual methods, sun-dried naturally, and dependent on the weather. Although the dried bananas were very fragrant, delicious, and beautifully golden, on rainy days, the high humidity caused the bananas to ferment, resulting in significant losses for the facility.

In 2017, Mr. Thanh researched and boldly invested 250 million VND in a drying system. With the advice and support of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion, he implemented the local industrial promotion project "Supporting the application of banana drying equipment - Tran Van Thoi district," receiving 125 million VND in support. Previously, using manual methods, Mr. Thanh's family exported over 10 tons of finished dried bananas per month. Since introducing machinery, productivity has doubled, and they can now operate year-round, no longer dependent on the weather.

Driven by practical needs and the development orientation of the facility to diversify products and expand the consumer market, in October 2024, Bay Hoang Dried Banana Facility decided to invest in new machinery and equipment to produce a new product, "soft dried bananas" (whole dried bananas), with a total investment cost of over 1.5 billion VND. Of this amount, the Center for Industrial Promotion supported the local industrial promotion group's project in 2024 on "Supporting the application of machinery and equipment in food production" with local industrial promotion funding of 112.5 million VND.

With its modern drying system, Tran Duy Thanh's facility produces an average of 13 tons of dried banana chips per month, equivalent to 52 tons of fresh bananas as raw material. Mr. Thanh shared that the advantage of this drying system is that the drying air is recirculated within the dryer, saving energy and minimizing environmental pollution. Designed with three power levels, it not only helps to dry whole bananas evenly but also preserves the color, flavor, and nutrients of the product, ensuring food safety and hygiene. It saves time and production costs, eliminates dependence on weather conditions, improves productivity and product quality, increases economic efficiency, and enhances competitiveness in the market. With the support of the local industrial promotion program, since putting the new machinery and equipment into operation, the production facility produces an average of 13 tons of dried bananas per month, equivalent to 52 tons of fresh banana raw materials, creating jobs for about 20 local workers, with an income of 4-5 million VND per person per month.
