On May 9, the 18th Defense Services Asia (DSA) Exhibition and Conference and the 3rd International Exhibition on Asian Security (NATSEC) concluded in Malaysia.

Several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and bilateral agreements between domestic and international companies, as well as relevant ministries of the defense industry, were signed during the DSA and NATSEC.
Specifically, the Malaysian Ministry of Defense (MINDEF) signed a total of 40 agreements and 4 letters of intent (LOI), with a total amount of up to 9 billion Ringgit (more than 1.89 billion USD) and 2 certificates of recognition of Malaysian business quality.
Among the notable LOIs is the LOI signed with Global Turbine Asia Sdn Bhd for the purchase of A400M transport aircraft for the Royal Malaysian Air Force, worth RM392 million.
The Malaysian Ministry of Defence also signed a key agreement with BHIC Aeroservices Sdn Bhd for on-site support in the supply and servicing of EC725 helicopters, worth RM378 million.
In his closing remarks, Malaysian Defense Minister Mohamed Khaled Nordin stressed the necessity of investing in emerging defense technologies in the 21st century, saying that it is necessary to maintain trustworthy international partnerships to ensure effective defense cooperation.
DSA and NATSEC 2024 brought together the largest number of participating countries and companies ever, with 1,324 companies from 60 countries, attracting more than 50,000 trade visitors from 70 countries, a 30% increase over the 17th DSA, demonstrating growing global interest.
The exhibition showcases advances in the manufacturing of defence and security equipment, while encouraging broader engagement from security professionals and stakeholders in the global defence and security industry.
As planned, DSA and NATSEC Asia 2026 will be held in Malaysia from April 20 to 23, 2026.
