“Recently, fans have had different reactions and emotions, I understand and respect that,” coach Anthony Hudson said at a press conference on the afternoon of November 12.
The British strategist was appointed by the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) to replace coach Masatada Ishii on October 21. However, the decision of FAT caused a strong reaction from football fans in this country. The reason is that Mr. Ishii has helped the Thai team achieve positive results recently, but when making the announcement, FAT said that the Japanese strategist's training method is not in line with the direction of this agency.
The new coach of the “War Elephants” respects the reactions of the fans. He hopes that under his leadership, the Thai team will have good results when facing Singapore and Sri Lanka. According to him, that will be the answer for those who are still skeptical.
“The whole team has prepared well, set clear goals to respond to the trust and make the fans proud of what we have shown. I hope the players will play well and qualify for the 2027 Asian Cup. I do not ask for unconditional support, but I hope the fans will continue to accompany and cheer for the players, not only in this match but also in the upcoming journeys,” he emphasized.
On November 13, the Thai team will have a friendly match with Singapore before entering the official match with Sri Lanka on November 18. Coach Hudson and his team only have 2 days to prepare for the match. However, he emphasized that this is not important. He and his students have the utmost respect for their opponents but are determined to win at home.

Also attending the press conference, Supachok Sarachat affirmed: “This match is an opportunity to test new tactics and help the young players express themselves before we face Sri Lanka. The atmosphere in the team is very positive. Having new faces like Jude Bell makes the whole team more excited. Everyone is working hard to create a cohesive team, both on and off the field.”
